Chargers and Giants are a very quiet 3-1, while the Eagles are a horrendous 1-3.

In other news, Suck for Luck looks to be a battle between the Vikings and Colts at this stage. Come on Colts, don't let me down! 😀

Yea, Philly was picked as a pre-season as a SB contender but that team has the worst tackling I've ever seen. Sorry, you've got some competition for luck, Minnesota is really, really bad. "Mc'nabb has to work on fundamentals", OMG he's a 13 year veteran, LOL..

the vikings just lost to the Chiefs.

I think your chances are quite slim at this point.

In other news: HOLY FUCK AARON RODGERS!
:awe:

so whats different between a ball they use for punts vs the one they use any other time

they had to call an officials TO in the pats game cause the wrong ball was on the field

what? this is news to me.

probably just needed a fresh ball--I assume that they have a down limit per each ball, and switch them out regularly, but they must have slipped on that one?

kinda like sammy sosa mistaking one of his "practice bats" for a game bat during that infamous at bat in 2004.

by the way, I just wanted to take the moment and announce that Chris Collinsworth has become one of my favorite sports comentators anywhere.

And I used to dislike him, greatly. Dude is sharp, and way ahead of every play--never forgets to give credit where it is never given--the O-linemen and guards and such. He calls a busted coverage 7 seconds before the snap every time it happens.

They also mentioned in a game once, last year I think, how the different QBs can use different balls. For instance, some use them more worn and smooth while others like them newer and rougher.

I'm pretty sure I remember this being discussed in a game a while back. They had the punting/kicking balls marked with a "K" IIRC. They might have a larger circumference?

Re: the Giants/Cardinals controversial play - FWIW they read the applicable rule on NBC, and it sounded like the ruling on the field was correct. He went to the ground and didn't try to advance, so he was down.

No, not really. All the commentators disagreed that he stumbled and fell, even the paid ex-NFL rules guy disagreed with the on-field ruling.

Taco and Flaccid competing for worst QB performance of all time 😉

Run the ball every play, you dolts.

How did the Lions recover from a 27-3 third quarter deficit to win 34-30? Experience it for yourself with the Lions' Dallas game slowlights (slow motion highlights):

Calvin Johnson's spectacular game-winning TD catch is at 13:10 and you can watch it from three different angles. Take that Cowpokers!

This picture on the front of ESPN made me crack up

man looks like only 1 loss away from the perfect sunday where all 3 NY teams lose, and so do the cowboys and eagles, FU refs for screwing me out of perfection

this assumes the jets continue to suck for the last quarter

Aww, Cowboys hate. Where would the weekly NFL thread on ATOT be without it?

I don't think it is outright hate of the Cowboys and/or Romo DougP. For one thing, the Cowboys are often annointed as superbowl favorites and we always hear this "America's Team" BS. Hell, the Seahawks are my team, and they are open to tons of ridicule and of course we always hear on ESPN jokes about the NFC West. The key is not to take it personally, which IMO you do much when it comes to your Cowboys. its all in good fun.

Face it, the extra publicity a team like the Cowboys receive is gonna lead to a backlash to some degree.

Do you think anything I said here is unfair? If it makes you feel better I would take Romo for my Seahawks over Tarvaris Jackson anyday.

Jets are Tony Romo away from 1-3 start. Romo is a gift that keeps on giving.

they play NE next...should be a good game. It may be the game that actually gives Sanchez confidence. A confident Sanchez is actually an average serviceable QB. I am still not convinced with the WR core with out the two tight end set. If NE is gonna be an offensive force next week, Ochocinco needs to step up.

Pretty much this. If you fall without being touched and don't stay down for 3-4 seconds, it's a fumble. Pretty much the same thing happened to Eli Manning last season(?) where he dived/stumbled headfirst. The ball was still live and it was correctly ruled a fumble. The "giving yourself up" has been generally accepted as to be when you slide feet first or take a knee. You go headfirst, it's a live ball until someone touches you.

Cards got hosed but they could have played better so as not to have 1 call be the decider in the game.

Pats are going nowhere in the playoffs with the no defense. Some better team will beat them when Brady has a bad day with some QB pressure, ala 2001 Rams or 2007 Pats.

I don't get Romo. He's feast or famine. If he didn't make as many mental errors, they might be 4-0. But without his gutting it out, they could be 0-4 as well.
