Sadly both of you aren't familiar with the Pats defense and are prone to make bad judgements.

The Pats have big linebackers which should help them make up for the loss of Wilfork. Wilfork was having a bad year so far:
http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/5546/vince-wilfork

The Pats also have two big rookies to go with Tommy Kelly to stick on the inside.

I guess we will see what happens at Zinzinatti this week.

/facepalm

Again, you have zero clue about football, let alone the Patriots. Big linebackers make up for the loss of Wilfork? Proof, you are an idiot.

Saints look good. Shows what a good head coach means.

I think they might have an offense that would be interesting to see face the Broncos. 100 points+ would be something to see.

I thought Miami was a bit of a mirage and the Saints uncovered them quite well last night.

I think the Dolphins are for real. Tannehill handed the Saints at least 14 points on turnovers.

You're just embarrassing yourself now.
The Pats would have been hurt far worse if Talib, Mayo or Jones went down. For all of Wilforks talent he plays nose tackle, not a key element of the defense. In fact, Wilfork has been hurt by the increase in teams running the hurry up. For all his conditioning it was obvious that he was tiring out faster than usual.

No, its just irrational hatred of the Pats that have fueled such ignorant analysis like "Brady must be mad he renegotiated his contract and the Pats didn't re-sign Welker" Only the ignorant think that's why he did it. The Pats used some of that money to re-sign their own free agent, Vollmer. I'm damn sure Brady prefers to have Vollmer protecting him than Welker to throw to.

Buwahahahahaha

Not important.

In a 3-4 defense, Nose tackle is the most important position AINEC. He sets the line up which sets up the rest of the defense. It all starts at the nose

And people say my football IQ is lacking.

Here, lemme learn you from someone who actually knows the game:

The nose tackle and the inside linebackers, those are three guys that are very important. But when you go through it, the nose tackle is probably the single-most important guy.

—Joe Collier, Denver Broncos assistant (1969–1988), architect of the "Orange Crush Defense".

Since Joe was the actual originator of the "NFL 3–4" defense, I think he knows what he is talking about

I should just ignore you. You do know that the Pats are $8 million under the salary cap, right? How much did they sign Vollmer for? Idiot.

Wilfork til this year(due to his foot injury) was the most important defensive player on the team, more important than Mayo due to his ability to take on double teams and blowing-up plays on the offensive line, allowing Mayo and Spikes to stuff the run without being blocked.

Again, you have zero clue about football and each time you post, you prove it. And last week, when Marcus Cannon took over for Vollmer for the majority of the game. Cannon didn't miss a beat and I bet Brady didn't even notice if it was Vollmer or Cannon.

Welker and Cannon at RT > Vollmer at RT but with their salary cap situation, they could have had all of them. Shows how little you know about the team.

Lemme learn you even further since you don't even know your Pats history

http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2009/jan/23/collier-explains-art-of-3-4-defense/

Collier, who spent 20 seasons (1969-1988) with the Broncos and still lives in the Denver area, is the one who put the 3-4 into the pages of the franchise's history. He's also the one Patriots coach Bill Belichick, McDaniels' former boss, often has credited with first showing him the defense.

The man who first taught Bill Belicheat the 3-4 defense says that the nose tackle is the most important part of the 3-4

Read this and learn something

"And you build it from the inside out," Collier said. "The nose tackle and the inside linebackers, those are three guys that are very important. But when you go through it, the nose tackle is probably the single-most important guy.

"He has to hold it all together and make it so the guards can't get out on the inside linebackers. Let me put it this way - the nose tackle can make the inside linebackers look pretty good, and if your inside linebackers look pretty good, you're going to play pretty good defense."

They definitely have the makings of a contender, but it will be a couple more years probably. They need to shore up that O-line a ton, they were responsible for the turnovers I saw. Maybe a weapon or two more on the offensive side, I still don't think Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas are very good. Should have kept Reggie Bush.

Fins QB stunk last night. Three INTs, 1 fumble. Can't win with stat like that.

The defense stunk too. Why did they let the TE of NO wide open multiple times? Plus the RB swing out from the back route multiple times? <sad panda>

His lack of football knowledge is amazingly bad, why dear lord can't he claim to be a Raiders fan?. Wilfork was one of the best ever at his position, he's too stupid to realize the negative impact this will have..

It's a system. You could plug Trident in as NT and the Pats will still go to the Super Bowl.
