No chance the Eagles win tonight. Their defense is just too bad. Might be a pretty high scoring game. Maybe 38-33?

Bingo, and don't forget the shit defenses many of these QBs are saddled with.

Yeah, I was just focusing on offensive performance. Defense is even more important. If Peyton had a halfway decent defense in his years at Indy, he'd have at least as many, or more rings than Brady.

The 9-7 Packers won the super bowl with a horrible running game, and a beaten and bruised Oline in which first 9 games Rodgers was sacked somewhere around the 50 sack mark. (7-9 sacks against the bears early that season... it was hard to watch lol)

The QB position is not the only position on the field, however they are the offensive general, and have the full ability to audible and change the play need be. Their mind is just as important as their arm. Anyone who has watched Peyton Manning should see that he walks under center, looks at the defense, and a good portion of the time calls a small or big audible that beats the defense he sees.

How was their defense that year? There's a reason why "defense wins championships," is a truism.

I'll take that bet.

I don't know that KC's offense can keep up or score that many points. They have Jamaal Charles, Dwayne Bowe and then who? Nobody!

Another good game IMO tonight. Looking forward to see how it shakes up and see if KC can pull one out. I'm taking Philly though

Monday night is going to be a blowout. Terrelle Pryor's last game of the season

Tonight should be good.

My upset for the week is the Raiders over the Broncos.. :whiste:

Think Broncos will win but it won't be Pryor's last game. Flynn is garbage.

Yeah, to be honest, I'm surprised to see dougp defending Romo. I thought he gave that up after last season's meltdown vs. Washington. I'll be honest -- I don't think Romo is a terrible QB by any stretch (though dougp rates him way too highly in the list he presented earlier; I'd take Luck over Romo any day) but he certainly has a mental block that causes him to be crushed under pressure. Maybe he should look into hypnosis.

Winner!

Don't get me wrong, I'm just as critical as most people over Romo - I just don't think he's as bad as people say.

I also love derailing the NFL threads, cause it's the tits.

Yes, an elite QB doesn't "need" a running game, and Marino, Manning, Brees, and Farve have a combined 5 superbowl wins while at the same time all are top 10 of all time QBs, and yet just Montana and Elway have 7, are at the top of that list, and had a strong rrunning game.

KC has a strong D but the offense still too young to compete with what philly has going (much of it left over from andy). Think they'll limit the eagles scoring but still won't be able to score enough themselves.

I'd say the bigger difference between Luck and Romo at this juncture is that Luck has a supporting cast around him that will actually try to get in a suitable position/open during a scramble drill instead of just stand around with their thumbs up their asses.

Of course there is the mystery affliction that Tony has where he seems to be allergic to just fucking throwing the god damn ball away!

Saints cb robinson on IR, at this point I'd never hire ryan for my defense cause it seems the ambulance follows him.

Yeah, why do you think Jones was eager to resign him? Who was out there? Rumor had it before Stafford was exteneded by Detroit, that he [Jones] was going to pitch to him next season becasue he's a Texas native.

I'd rank him below Eli, and even Rivers, but above Ben.

Man, I hate the Cowboys, but I think I actually like Romo more than my friends who are diehard Cowboys fans. They hate Romo more than I hate their Cowboys. That is saying a lot.

:hmm: OK, sure...maybe some of that (from me--the liking part) is because no one really feels threatened when facing Romo, but I've always thought he was more than competent with a decent set of skills, and there are plenty of teams in the league that would die to have him. ....that position has become loaded these last couple of years, but he's still better than half the QB's out there.

Jones remembers his illogical infatuation with Quincy Carter and then realizes Romo is the only good QB the Cowboys have had since Aikman. He's afraid to lose him and thinks the problems on the Cowboys run deeper than Romo. I think that's definitely true but you wonder how long Jerry will tolerate the late season meltdowns. Of course, we all know Jerry has played a bigger role in the demise of the Cowboys than anyone -- by my own count, he cost himself a couple of Super Bowl wins by getting rid of Jimmy Johnson and hiring that buffoon Switzer and then the subsequent parade of buffoons after Switzer.

Another person in this thread (don't remember who and too lazy to look) wondered how Garrett survives. It is really simple. JJ will not ever hire a strong-willed head coach again. That's why Jimmy Johnson was shown the door and why Bill Parcells didn't last long. Parcells could've righted the ship had he stayed another couple of years too.

Yep, I agree 100%.

I wish the Cowboys would fire that GM of theirs! :p

You can't say that Wade Phillips was bad. He was shitcanned before he got a chance. It's almost like Jerry doesn't want to win or something.

Errr, what? Wade Phillips was a terrible head coach. He is a great coordinator but not HC material.

I'm still not sure why the media (especially ESPN) is so apoplectic over the Richardson trade. I hope he does well in Indy, but if I were a Brown's fan I'd be clamoring for a tear-down/rebuild after all of the seasons of suckage.

Richardson obviously isn't a game-changer at RB, and the Browns feel like they can get a similar, more explosive back in next year's draft (probably in a later round).

And now they have two first rounders to rebuild the face of the franchise.

I think Cleveland fans are sick of the perpetual rebuilding cycle the Browns have been in. I don't know how good/bad Richardson will turn out to be, but I think giving up a first round pick for him is an acceptable risk.

I think Darrelle Revis, glad to be out of New York, is less than convincing in refuting rumors he is unhappy in his new surroundings in Tampa. He tweeted "I'm happy to be a Buccaneer and a resident of Tampa." Brandtslation: "I'm making $16 million with no state income tax."
