pro bowl rosters announced: afc | nfc

on a side note... rivers gets the snub while favre gets in?!? seriously?! love or hate the guy... still doesnt change the fact that he leads the nfl in passer rating, tied for the lead in touchdowns, tied for the lead in y/a, and is fifth in yards. but no, give it to favre... a guy who leads the league in interceptions. even though no one gives a swollen rats colon about the pro bowl, its still the principle of the matter.

edit: espn had the 2009 pro bowl roster on their for main page for the afc, but last years for the nfc. updated with yahoo links.

doesn't he have a bad rep? his image probably hurt him a bit... favre shouldn't have gotten the nod but this is probably his last season. shit happens

Jets fan here; but I believe there are several QB's that are more entitled than Favre this year. Rivers, Cassel, and Pennington all come to mind.

Not to mention that the Jets are tied for first in a division with three teams that have 9 wins. The Chargers are in a pathetic conference that barely has 9 wins between 3 teams.

but rivers shouldnt be punished based on the teams merits as the defense doesnt know what a pass rush is. hell his numbers could possibly be even better if he had more time with the ball. as far as the reputation thing goes... t.o. got selected as a starter. a guy who once called his old qb gay.

edit: ill leave the secondary alone. when the opposing quarterback is sitting in the pocket long enough that he might as well set up a picnic back there i cant really fault them all that much.

edit2: stupid espn posting last years nfc roster on their main page. t.o. isnt scheduled as a starter, so the rep comment may hold water for this year...

woo, mcclain in there at FB 🙂

ed reed, ray lewis and t suggs on defense too. ngata should be there too though

Yes, this.

I am a bit pissed that Cassel didn't get the nod. I made the Superbowl thanks to him.

I am glad to see that many of the Vikes made it though.

wait, how is brett favre there on the nfc too? 😕

damn espn. look at the date, 2007. here's yahoo's correct link

hahah, i like warner and his 2 recievers making the pro bowl

for a second there i saw the same thing before noticing the date. i was about to say, they playing street football this year? like when you played as a kid and there was always one kid with a better arm so he was designated all-time qb.

Any "all star" game based on fan votes is almost never going to have players in there for statistical reasons. It's all about the hype. The Jets are a very large market team. Last year they had 4 wins. They bring in a big name legend and have 9 wins with probably a 10th against Seattle. That wins you votes.

Having 4 wins going into the 14th week of the season isn't going to win many fan votes no matter how magical your numbers are. Take a look at Aaron Rodgers for the the NFC version of Rivers.

Very happy to see Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis in there. Best defensive end tandem in the league. Now if we only had some decent tackles we'd be a real force. Watching Big Baby Rodgers rush after McNabb Monday night made me so jealous.

Yeah Cassel really surprised everyone. High school to NFL breakout. 😉 He's gonna be rich man soon enough.

I could have caught that TD.

You would have been sodomized in the shower in training camp.

At least i would have protested it.

The replay would show your backfield was in motion. You would have forfeited a time out.

Even with BS calls against the Cowboys, the Giants suck...🙁

really gettin' cold at the wrong time here, especially if the blow home field next week and lose to carolina

I don't think they'll lose to Carolina. They are playing in Meadowlands. Panthers are going to be FREEZING.

Panthers are a running-based team. Freezing ain't an issue.

When you go from a place where it never snows to 10 degree weather not including windchill, it's a factor for every team.

ummm... It snows in Charlotte.
