Didn't go through this whole thread but has anyone talked about how good Vick looked today after Kolb left the game?

Yea he did. It'll be the battle of the backup QBs next week when the Eagles play the Lions.

At least i"m assuming they'll sit Kolb for that concussion and Stafford has a sprained AC join so 2-4 weeks for him.

Actually, I never said Ware was better tonight, I argued that Rak isn't the best LB. Maybe you should learn to read before you call someone a moron.

Your main argument for Ware is that he posted better stats than Rak's rookie year yet both were Pro Bowlers. Rak obviously won the game for them tonight but you would probably say Ware had the better game b/c he had better "stats". Learn to follow logic.

Except I didn't say that, did I? You're the one who started to link stats, not me. Anyways, I'm off to bed considering I'm on vacation and this is a rather stupid argument for both of us.

process... can lick my sack

it was a catch

that is all

Couldn't have said it better. Me thinks it time to look at that rule again.

edit: I just hope the Chiefs don't get embarrassed. The fact that the line is still 4.5pts is kind of ridiculous to me.

Guess who is singing the national anthem at the Chiefs game... Billy. Ray. Cyrus. :hmm: Guess who is performing at half... fucking Train. D:

I'm also looking forward to getting a good look at the new Meadowlands stadium.

It's Detroit maintaining their losing ways for a little longer. It's a catch but Megatron should have cradled the ball a little longer until ref raised arms for a goal to be sure. It's a well known rule, he should have known better.

Common fucking sense says that was touchdown. Oh wait it's the NFL defining a catch is harder then Chinese algebra

My wife who literally knows nothing about football and rarely watches still doesn't understand how that wasn't a catch.

that last play of the game was the biggest low to high i've ever done heh.

I kept replaying the end, picking out all the cowboy fans in the stands that had their backs to the field and were jumping up and down cheering...
And then watching their reactions when they saw the Skins fans start cheering.
Good stuff! Wish I could have been there.

He started out looking good, but he was back to his old ways before long. He started throwing some sloppy passes and it became obvious he wanted to run more than pass after a bit, it seemed. He looked better than Kolb, that's for sure (I know, that's not saying much)

That's the rule this year, every league has to take their shot at Detroit and see who can fuck us over the most.

Also, re: the perfect game/Lions game discussion we were having earlier - they were talking about the same issue on the radio on my commute this morning, and the general consensus (probably 70/30) seemed to be that this was far worse.

The Cowboys/Redskins game was stunningly stupid...IMO, the Redskins didn't beat the Cowboys...the Cowboys beat the Cowboys.

Yes, Washington gets to put 1 in the win column...can't take that away from them, but overall...the Cowboys just beat themselves.

I don't like either team, so it doesn't matter much to me, but WOW! Sure, fouls happen from time to time...everyone fucks up on occasion, but Dallas seemed to make that their game strategy tonight.
They're a far cry from the machines of the Landry era.

Coaching/Play Calling and penalties lost the game for dallas.

It's no secret that dallas is a heavily penalized and undisciplined team, but it was never that bad. Seriously, after any decent dallas play, I was actually waiting for the flag.

Also, Jason Garrett fucks up again big time. There was no reason to try and do anything at the end of the first half. Whatever though, shit happens. But Garrett practically abandons the run after they got their first touchdown, even though their lone touchdown drive benefited HUGELY from the run. I could go on about the monumentally stupid playcalling, but I wont.

The players played well (aside from the offensive line negating ever decent drive with a penalty), but it was coaching that really screwed them up.

On a side note: can dallas ever find a kicker that can reliably kick field goals? I know he only missed one (out of one try), but still. It should be (nearly) automatic at that distance.

Hell look at Hartley for the Saints. He missed two!

After Washington flubbed that "give-away chip shot" of a field goal, I can't fault Dallas missing the only one they attempted.

It is far worse. The only reason one might consider the baseball call worse is because of what it means to history. Calls like that are a dime a dozen in baseball though.

Well, everybody seemed to think I was crazy yesterday for thinking that.

The Galarraga game will be remembered as *the* moment from the 2010 season for many years. Probably longer than his perfect game would have been.

Yes it was partly coaching like not taking a knee at the half but for the most part it was Washington stuffing the shit out of Dallas on 3rd downs (Dallas only converted 5/13) and coming up big. Give credit where it's due. Who stripped Choice for the TD, the tooth fairy? Who dropped 2 gimme-INTs on Romo's last drive, Santa Claus?

Romo was completing passes for around 70% so you can't fault them for passing, Austin was constantly finding ways to get open. It came down to Washington's new bend but don't break defense which got the job done last night, especially Hall/Carter/Landry/Orakpo/Fletcher/McIntosh. Dallas had 9 more minutes of possession time and Washington could barely penetrate Dallas's stellar line but still made the stop when it counted (80 Tackles to Dallas's 55).

The Redskins played good D, I admit, but nearly everything that went wrong for Dallas wasn't of beloved patriot's doing, it was stupid mistakes. Sure, Choice got stripped at the end of the half, but intelligent play calling would've fixed that.

Playcalling put them in terrible 3rd and longs all night. At one point they call two straight hitch routes to Dez Bryant that nets them a whole yard. Sure the Redskins covered it great, but it was simply bad playcalling.

Dallas did well when they ran it, but I don't care what your completion percentage is as a QB, you're not going to have a balanced offense (and win the game) if you don't run the ball. Just ask Peyton Manning (57 passes and only 10 rushes).

most of the holding penalties on the cowboys, including the one on the last play of hte game, were the only thing that could have been done if the cowboys didn't want a sack. orakpo would have drilled romo into the dirt if he wasn't being held.

that is pretty much the regular for holding penalties. that is why such big plays happen and are called back because of holding, because w/out that hold, the play would have been a bust.

Yep Rak would have had at least 2-3 sacks had he not been held for most of the game. The best was when he said Romo was yelling at him that he wasn't being held but didn't say a word on the last play.

glad to see shanahans debut went somewhat well, as a skins fan i am encouraged. looks like the boy's preseason was not a fluke after all.
