Newton is a dodo, can you blame him? He's like a little child which is good and bad. Good because it allows him to not give a dam about criticism, stay focused better and show cockiness, but bad because he's not a man yet and will say stupid things like pulling the race card when it's not necessary. His father isn't exactly the best role model either so I think Cam was dealt a shitty hand from the start. It's frankly amazing that a guy of his maturity and background is about to win a super bowl after having so many cards stacked against him in the past.

I think a SB win plus the recent birth of his kid will help him become a man. They say you're not a man until you get married and leave the bachelor lifestyle, but I think that's also true for becoming a father. Now you have a lot more to lose in life and will also think about the example you are providing for that little one.

Details for next year's TNF have been signed for. Network broadcast increased to 10 from 8 games, this time with CBS and NBC each getting 5 games.

I hate that, terrible for teams. The games are usually shitty too. NFL wants more more more no matter the cost.

I don't like Cam for the same reasons I don't like Aaron Rodgers (who happens to be white). Seeing Cam pouting on the sidelines during the NFC Divisional round last season when the Panthers were down to Seattle is NOT how you want your QB to act. Or during this year's divisional round when Seattle was mounting a comeback and he was forced to take a timeout in the 2nd half he came off the field screaming at his coach, obviously angry, and it sure sounded/looked like profanity.

A football player swearing? Are you serious? You would be shocked at what you hear in an NFL locker room then. You know the coaches swear. And he wasn't really yelling at his coaches, moreso upset at something happening on the field. And, again that happens a lot with QB's. But this is exactly what I'm talking about, people inventing reasons and things to hate him for which are commonplace.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who dislike him for many reasons. But, like I said the undercurrent of a lot of it is racism. It is the same with Obama, the same things previous presidents did, people suddenly had a problem with it because Obama did it (like, the cost of Secret Service protection).

Compare Newton to Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers of the discount double check and the "calm down". He is equally arrogant, maybe moreso, yet, I seldom here anyone call him arrogant. Or look at JJ. Watt. He is insufferable, yet an idol to many.

And for Wilson, he knows how to play the game many African Americans learn as they grow up. How to be successful yet not be threatening. (Did you notice Obama hardly talked about race while running for President. It wasn't only until a couple years ago, he started speaking more and acting more on it.). The problem with Cam Newton, he doesn't care about the game. He wants to be apologetically who he is. And that rubs people the wrong way.

And the only people mentioning race are you and Cam Newton. Show me a link to where ARod, JJ Watt, or Russell Wilson pull the race card on their own. It doesn't exist. You are confusing cam's arrogance for racism, they are two different things. Nobody pulls the race card unless they themselves care about race. This is why cam is viewed as immature. We are all racist to a certain degree but how many claim people are upset with you because of your race? It's something only a simpleton like cam would say, and I bet he was raised like that by his scumbag pay4play dad... so not entirely his fault but he needs to grow up already.

To preface. It is ridiculous to argue someone bringing up race solely cares about race. I mean c'mon. And maybe you should agree that it is hard for you understand it, seeing you'll never have to deal with overt and/or covert racism or having to modify your behavior or be more domicile so as not to be seen as arrogant i.e. "uppity".

You can attempt to hear what I am saying, or you can supplant your experiences for mine and the majority of African Americans. Fyi, I guarantee if you were in Russell Wilson's head, he would tell you the same. He's just ok playing the game, tying not to rock the boat and keeping himself "acceptable", just as Obama was pre-election and his first term in office.

And I'm biracial with Hispanic family - I'm just as qualified to talk about race as cam is. He's a child pulling the race card. I hope for his sake he matures before injuries knock him out of the league and that payday is gone. And I see you're still speaking for Russell Wilson and Obama on race matters, congrats for speaking for people you don't even know personally. You aren't qualified to speak for Russ or our Prez because you don't know them beyond what you see in the media.

I'm not the only one who thinks cam is a child.
The sign was reportedly destroyed, but Panthers management has claimed they will make it up to Dobs.

As for Newton, well, don’t do anything to make manchild angry! He will crap all over your day because he’s a big tough guy!

“That don’t match. I feel it’s my due diligence to protect this house,” the Gaston Gazette reported. “We played in Green Bay last year and I didn’t see no ‘Panther Country’ signs up there.”

One, that’s because no one outside of the Carolinas likes the Panthers, you nitwit, and two, “protecting this house” involves you ruining someone’s experience who paid hundreds of dollars to see you play? Really?

Only a child would care about an opposing banner in the stadium and destroy property like that. He also just named his newborn "Chosen Newton". This beyond even kanye-levels of stupidity (kanye would have named him Fig Newton), hope he doesn't send this kid to public school. But what do you expect from someone who holds the lowest wonderlic score of all starting QBs in the NFL.

Cam Newton? Never heard of her.

Well, I guess a lot of people in the Panthers organization are children.

Dob's beef is all for naught, anyway. Panthers stadium policy is that "No banners or flags expressing support of visiting teams may be affixed to or displayed on any surface," per the team's official site.

It could also be said that bringing a sign like that to a rival teams stadium is childish. But, it seems you are very selective in whom you call a child.

If you really do care about this topic, honestly, there is nothing wrong with picking up a book on this or even just talking to a couple of African Americans you work or are friends with and asking them about their perceptions on this topic or what they do to fit in at work if anything at all. I'm done with it.

Panthers 100-0. Then FINALLY #18 for Denver can go away for good when he is shown to be the mediocre quarterback that he is.

NFL's new $450 million deal with NBC and CBS for "Thursday Night Football" works out to about $45 million a game. 😱

holy Christ.. thurs nite football is that popular that the networks can still make a profit?

but the question:
Will Peyton retire if he WINS the ring?

I say no.

no one who loves the game retires on top.
1 more year left is their mantra

There is no IF. He is incapable of winning against anyone ACTUALLY good. He needs to win to get to just .500 for playoff winning percentage.

Surely you're aware that some people don't act like jerks for the simple reason that they're not jerks? Contrary to your argument, this does not make them some kind of Uncle Tom. Conversely, this does not make Cam Newton a brave hero for acting like an a-hole.

Not sure how you even came up with this bizarre conspiracy theory.

so all the playoff teams he beat in getting to the superb owl were scrubs?

and wtf does getting .500 matter?

I am 0 for 1million in hitting 8figure lottery.
i would be estatics if I'm 1 for 1 million

I'm also 0 for 10 in having a 3some w/twin girls.
i would glading accept 10% success rate.

you get the idea

He sucked against a bad pats defense so yes.

I can't wait till he throws another sealing pick six just like he did against the Saints. That was one of the greatest days ever, but not as great as his utter humiliation against the Seahawks.

People need to get over their assumption that he is actually good. He is paid the big money to win the big games, which he will more often than not lose. He ran up all of his huge stats against shitty ass teams. It is kind of like a full size person fighting a midget. The full size person should ALWAYS win.

So did PM piss in your cereal today, or back when he was with the Colts?

I just hate hype, and he is nothing but hype. He has already been crowned the greatest of all time, and he only has 1 ring. Come back when you have 3 or 4. You are paid to win when it counts, he doesn't.

Winning and going to multiple super bowl's isn't hype. If you haven't noticed it yet, actually winning a SB is a monumental feat that some of the best NEVER even get to play in. I don't think he's been crowned GOAT. It's generally accepted that he's one of the best to play the game and changed the way offensives work. You put that together with his work ethic, self deprecating attitude and the fact he does get results, it's really hard to find a reason to not like the guy.
