Pats just fired their OLine coach.

What they're not telling you is that Solder is only a good run blocker and not pass protector. I.e. it wouldn't have mattered a lick if he was playing against Denver or not - they were at full strength for pass protection from that group. And we knew the Pats were going to be mismatched by the Broncos from a talent-level perspective but it shouldn't have been that bad. Those guys were not prepared for that game and should've watched more game tape. The QB shouldn't be getting hit for a record amount of times. That is an absolute embarrassment, especially from a franchise as good as the Pats.

What was Solders stats last year and other years? And I would like to think the OL coach should have realized Stork was tipping off the snap to the Broncos D-Line with his head bobbing, allowing Miller and others to get such huge jumps on the snap.

fwiw - Solders 4 month old son was diagnosed with cancer this fall which I can see affecting his performance this season before getting hurt.

Someone upset? It's okay. Plenty of salt to go around!

No, just stupid to call a H-back the great TE or think his trolling was funny especially when his SB teams were caught cheating. But most people here don't even know b/c it was so long ago since they've won a SB.

I don't like Manning. Never have, never will. Can't stand his sour whiny bitchy tantrum blame game face every time the slightest thing goes wrong, and I've never noticed him to carry himself on the sideline like an impassioned leader in the way that Brady does.

I want this one for Elway.
The funny thing about this post for me personally is that you named the only two HOF-caliber QBs I particularly don't like in Brady and Elway.

Panthers 24 - Broncos 17

My thoughts exactly... how can you hate Manning?

I'm a Chargers fan so I dislike the Manning's. It is directed more at Archie and Eli though. Not sure why someone would hate Peyton specifically offside of being a bitter Pats fan, or something. Frankly, the only people I "hate" in the NFL right now are the Spanos family and that is for obvious reasons.

I'd rather see the Panthers win but I don't really care either way.

For one, Manning definitely has more and worse commercials.
There are too many of them, but he (or his PR team) has done a masterful job crafting his public persona. He's not all in your face, "my looks and my life are better than you". Peyton makes fun of himself, and that's more enjoyable than most celebrity endorsements.

How did Sharpe cheat again? He wasn't over the salary cap like Elway (big scandal there!), he wasn't rubbing Vaseline on himself, and he wasn't caught for PEDs that I know of. So, again, salty pats fans still salty Shannon made fun of Tom Brady and the idiot Pats fans on Twitter that foam at the mouth when you talk about the Pats in any negative way.

If Denver brings the pass rush they had against the Pats and sound fundamentals the Carolina offense may be in for a surprise. One of the problems Seattle had is they had no pass rush in the divisional game whereas in the regular season game where Cam was pressured his first 3 quarters had his Passer rating below 20 with a couple turnovers and barely 100 yards. If you don't pressure Cam he and that offense are going to stampede you.

On Denver's side, if their offense has any hope they need to give Peyton time and Peyton needs to play like a game manager. D Thomas needs to step up and play up to his contract.

I would like to see Peyton retire on the upside but it really comes down to whose defense shuts down who. I think the 2015 version of Manning if more prone to absolute implosion while 2015 Cam under pressure just looks pedestrian.

Talking about QBs under pressure, a tip of the hat to Brady: For the amount of pressure he was under the fact he was a toss away from a tie says a lot. If they hadn't missed the extra point or had simply gone for the FG earlier that game could have been different. (Could have, not would have.) Same thing with Wilson. Seasons down the drain due to inept offensive lines.

I predict 28-17 Carolina. I think Carolina is too young to be nervous and Denver's defense will keep it respectable, but one of those games where 11 points feels like 28.

Thinking that the Panthers will win. Both teams have dominating defenses. Manning, while not outstanding against the Pats, didn't make errors in last Sunday's game. That was just what the Broncos needed from him.

But I think that Manning will need to play at a higher level for the Broncos to win SB50. I don't know if he has it in him. Either way this game goes, Manning has rehabilitated his legacy, and will be perceived as a winner in his last NFL game.

Season down the drain due to decision not to take field goals in the 1st half. History repeats itself. When traveling from PST to EST time zone, the Seahawks have struggled in the 1st half. We've seen this in games against Redskins and Falcons. Had Pete made that one simple decision Russell might have been in the SB even during his rookie year.

You act like Carolina didn't take their foot off the gas pedal. That game was over when it was 31-0, final score be damned.

I'm somewhat hoping for a soul crushing defeat of Manning. Pick six to win, blowout, etc. Something that makes him hang up his cleats.

In retrospect I think Seattle just stopped the bleeding. Carolina didnt score again after the midway point in second quarter. Maybe a little bit of it was desperation mode vs complacency, but I dont think Carolina ever takes their foot off the pedal. In the next game, Carolina ran it up on AZ. Heck, they even went for 2 on their last touchdown.

...umm they ran up AZ to prove that they weren't complacent in the second half (against the seahawks). That's exactly what "taking your foot off the pedal" means. Carolina didn't think it would be this easy and they pretty much took Seattle out of the game after the first quarter. With such a big point cushion they let off the gas in the second half and couldn't get it going again. They rectified that with the AZ game, as we saw.

That would imply that they were complacent, so its not really proving what you think it does. If you look at the Panthers highest scoring games with a wide margin of victory, they continue scoring in the 3rd and 4th quarter, including last week. If they could have scored 50 on Seattle they would have.

That being said, Carolina beat them twice, both home and away, so the better team won. But the AZ game made me rethink things a bit. Arizona had a lot of self inflicted turnovers too. If Denver can clean things up it will be much more competitive.

Why are you tipping your hat to Brady? He's had the best TE in the league and best possession WR in the league to throw to all of the playoffs. No other player can create separation like Gronk and Edelman is arguably uncoverable as well. Brady still had to execute the throw but you have a huge target radius when throwing to Gronk, while Edelman almost always has a step on his opponent if you can throw accurately under 9 yards (Brady's aDOT this year = laughable 8.3). Brady's team got their asses kicked because their Oline didn't prepare enough for their opponent. To set a record of hits on the QB shows a clear lack of preparation from not only the line, but the entire offense. Talent can only bail you out of so many deficits. A combination of BB's pride (didn't take the FG) and a lack of preparation was why NE lost. I'm not tipping my cap to anyone on that offense including Brady who can change the play if he wants.

Carolina did take the foot off the gas until SEA scored a couple TDs and then CAR defense started back to stop key 3rd downs. Remember Greenbay also let the foot off the gas and lost. 31-0 is a bit too much of a hole though, that's why my point of having field goals in the 1st half is pretty damn important.

Majority of CAR/SEA games tend to be close games going down to the wire with SEA winning the majority but this time CAR was quite ready. This year is theirs. I'm not trying to take anything away from them.

Edit.
