I'm getting really sick of every losing QB blaming the refs for everything. Honestly they're not that bad, and they're not missing that many more calls than the old refs did.

Also I don't think it's been discussed yet, but Greg Schiano calling for his team to bull rush Eli during a kneel down with 5 seconds left in the game was classless bush-league bullshit. What a sore loser.

You know what else is classless? Throwing offensive picks - not making defenders run into one another, but the offensive player actually throwing a physical pick on a defender. The Giants did it twice opening week, and the Lions did it to the 49ers last night - oh, and that's against the rules. And it's not getting called. Nevermind the bullshit block on Lee that was against the rules as well.

You should worry more about the shit these replacement "officials" aren't calling over what Schiano asked his team to do.

Honestly, not really. He's streaky as hell, but last year after 4 games he actually had better stats than Tom Brady. Figure that out.

If he can figure out how to stop throwing ints, and more importantly stop throwing balls that hit the turf 5 yards before it gets to the receiver (that's new for this year BTW), he'd end up being one of the better QB's in the league.

and CJ spiller is tearing up the FF board with his yards and TD. Guess Fred jackson lost his starting job.

What does that mean? The only offensive player who can throw a pick is the quarterback. 😕

Quarterbacks throw interceptions. This is a pick: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_(sports)

Classless is not how I would describe that, but whatever... it's dougp, just let him whine and move along.

I don't think what Tampa Bay did was a big deal. If they were down by two scores I'd have a problem with it, but I don't blame them for making a desperate attempt to get the ball back.

OK, sorry. Let me rephrase:

Your team is a hand-me-down.

😛

Well, I'd take a hand-me-down over the Snyder-owned Redskins any day of the week. 😀

I am VERY glad that we got the Colts, because we would've most likely ended up with the Cardinals if we missed out on the Colts. And if that wouldn't have happened, Indy would've gotten an expansion franchise for sure. The Colts are better than all those options especially once old Bob Irsay croaked.

Of course, in a couple more years, the franchise will have been in Indy longer than it was in Baltimore. I prefer to think of it as the Colts moving on to a better city.

What's wrong with what the Bucs did? In a one score game, what if Manning botched the hike? There's a reason the quarterback is completely surrounded during kneel downs. The Giants' line simply wasn't doing its job.

uh, he means a "pick" as in a screen, I suppose. (think "pick" in basketball)

And I agree--it is BS...if done blindly, like what happened at least once, last night.

But offensive players throw up screens and blocks all the time in football. If done properly, I don't see a problem with it.

Completely agreed. I saw nothing wrong with it. It wasn't a two-possession lead. I'd have no problem with it if the Lions tried the same on the 49ers. Its football. Coughlin is an ass. 🙄

But the Browns--er, I mean Ravens!--are the better franchise...

:hmm:

Yeah, the one Baltimore fans act as if it was somehow different than what happened with the Colts. "But...but....we left their 'history' and 'name' back in Cleveland! Yeah, that's the ticket! We just stole all their players and coaches!"

The play is probably a screen, but the players are throwing picks taking the defenders out of coverage. It's a huge issue because it's generally done to the blind side of a defender, and the intention is to take them off their feet so they can't get into coverage. It can also cause head trauma or issues with the torso or arm depending where it's hit. There's a reason why it's illegal, and it's classless. If you don't have the skill to shake a defender and you have to resort to breaking the rules, that's pretty classless.

As for your last comment, put me on ignore. I'm not whining here about anything other than bullshit refs. Not only did this missed call lead to a Lions TD, but so did them messing up the down count on that drive.

So go fuck yourself, mugs.

Yes, I used the term pick because it's exactly what they do in basketball - except they train for that there and it's allowed. A pick is much different than a screen because in a screen, the offensive player is basically hoping the defenders run into each other.

Sorry for any confusion I caused.

I have a good friend who is a diehard Browns fan--born and raised in Cleveland.

I try to explain to him that his current Browns are, by any relevant definition, an expansion team; but he will have none of it!

😀

Wow, another interception.

I don't think Manning is really mentally prepared for his first road game in nearly 2 years. Hopefully he gets back his mojo before the half is up.

Actually the Cards have won 9/11 going into last season, play a sloppy game against them and the can beat anyone. Being at home though, that's a game the Pats needed, tougher opponents await..
