But seriously........I agree with the guys on ESPN last night.........

The viewership and sponsorship probably just dropped by a significant percentage and football itself is probably worse off for Favre not being there.

You think golf misses Tiger??? Wait 'til reruns of Magnum P.I. get better ratings than then Superbowl that weekend.

You really don't have a clue do ya! 90% of the queens fans like farve alot . Even with a loss on Sunday. We enjoyed the best viking football we have ever seen . Farve brought alot to Mn. This year /. He made the game a game of fun. We seen the most exciting football we have ever watch . Most of you guys only watched the comboys/Saints game . All of our games were that exciting and heart throbbing. I personlly and almost everyone I know really aren't upset about the loss on Sunsay . Do you know what were all concerned about. Farve retiring. Every MN Viking fan wants him Back . Were all aware the loss on sunday was 16 against 11. and that doesn't matter . We want Farve for as long as Farve wants to play. We enjoy Fun and Farve is fun exciting and one tough son of a gun.

Sure many fans were disappointed on sunday but you know what most talkabout is how exciting the game was . How with 5 turn overs Farve had us in the game. 1 of those turn overs didn't really count.Because Farve was hit High low on that play and its an infraction the refs, Did't call . The overtime was a joke. 3 bad calls and a holding none call. So we in Mn feel pretty good about the vikes loss. What will hurt us is if he retires. Thats the one thing none in MN want to see. WE LIKE THE OLD MAN A LOT.

Is what I want to see is Manning get hit late like farve did about 9 times and only get one penality called. That well never happen and were all gone to get to see it in the Katrina Bowl.

I have nothing against him but football will do JUST fine without him, trust me.

And I keep hearing about how the Colts did against the Jets and Ravens. Don't forget guys that the Saints have a different type of offense than those teams. The Jets and Ravens are similar in the rush heavy offense that relied on the defense to make stops when they could not come up with big plays. The Saints tended to be a much more pass oriented offense.

Also the whole turnover things kind of irritates me. Some of those were forced and the Saints defense has been known to work on getting turnovers. Now I agree our offense was not super crazy but the Vikings are a good defensive team, I think they had the #6 overall defense in the league during regular season.

Either way it should be a good game, win or lose I am just happy we finally got there.

Yeah, he really overrates Brett Favre. Many sports fans are sick and tired of him and just want him to go away. I think many people were glad to see him booted.

I agree with you about the differences between the Saints offense versus the Ravens and Jets. However, I don't think the Saints have faced an offense like the Colts either. I tend to think that the Colts defense will fare better against the Saints offense than the Saints defense will against the Colts offense.

Also, if the Saints bring the pressure like the Jets did against the Colts, they will likely get burned and have to back off just like the Jets did. If that happens, the Colts will try to establish the run and if they have even moderate success, Manning will be able to pick the defense apart with play action or the ensuing confusion.

At any rate, it will be a good game. I won't predict a Colts win because I do not want to jinx them. I do believe the Colts are the better team, but anything can happen on any given Sunday. And for what it is worth, if the Colts do lose, I couldn't think of a more deserving team to lose to than the Saints.

A question -- a lot of people are speculating that Brees' shoulder might be acting up because of the way he was throwing vs. the Vikings. Any news on that?

I went back and watched the game and the only call I am iffy about is that pass interference call. I am not sure if there was contact or not, there may have been contact before what the replay shows. The other calls were all legit, close but legit.

No team should ever be out to injure the other team. That's unsportsmanlike to the extreme, and I'll be sorely disappointed in Gregg if he really means to run his defense like that. Hitting the quarterback cleanly and legally to rattle him and mess with his comfort level and timing is another thing though IMO.

First of all I don't want anyone to get injured, its a rough game and purposely trying to injury someone is wrong.

I listened to the interview, it sounds like that last part was kind of tongue in cheek. NBCsports more times than not tends to rag on the Saints for some reason so I went to the source.

Every defensive coordinator wants to rattle the QB and get hits on him, but I doubt very many actively promote knocking them out of the game. He even said (paraphrased) "If penalties happen on our hits, so be it." I think that says quite a bit.

The saints played the dirtiest football game I have ever seen against thew Vikes and the officiating was the worse I ever witnessed . They were bought and paid for .

The New Orleans Saints are going to the Super Bowl, but defensive end Bobby McCray is going to pay for the hit that helped his team get there.

A source told FOXSports.com that McCray was fined a total of $20,000 for two hits on Brett Favre, including a low blow on the quarterback in last Sunday’s 31-28 overtime victory over Minnesota.

McCray struck Favre around the legs while defensive tackle Remi Ayodele plowed into the quarterback’s upper body. The third-quarter play, which the NFL admits should have drawn a penalty, gave Favre a sprained ankle that hampered him for the rest of the NFC Championship game.

Favre threw an interception on the play, which would have been overturned had a penalty been called.

A six-year NFL veteran, McCray played off the bench for New Orleans throughout this season.

Plus you have Robert Mathis on the other side. He is also a pro bowl defensive end.

There will still be plenty of pressure on Brees.
