Ortiz is a beast, he just tied the game AND tied Arod. :(

It's easier to be a beast when you can sit in the dugout all day resting your fat ass instead of wasting energy in the field like, you know, a real baseball player.

Easy to tell you're not a Sox fan. Let me ask you this, if Ortiz played for YOUR team, would you feel the same?

Yep. The DH rule is a travesty and full-time DH's are not real baseball players. A real baseball player puts on a glove and prevents runs as well as driving them in. A real baseball player doesn't get to nap between innings. When a manager wants to give a real baseball player a rest day he lets him DH.

Hypothetically speaking - Ortiz plays for your team. It's the world series, Ortiz hits the game winning HR in game 7 to win it for your team. You're at a bar with some friends. Everyone is yelling, screaming and excited...

From your post above, I can see your reaction:

"Man, that fat-ass wannabe fake baseball player just won it for us. Yay." :p

Seriously though, the DH is here, nothing we can do about it, and no other DH is even in Ortiz's league. It's not even close. You gotta give him credit for at least being that much better than the rest of the field, whether or not you agree with the premise of the DH.

I remember how emotional and giddy the ALCS made me last year, I think this weekend will bring up some recent memories.

A good buddy of mine has season tickets in Fenway on the third base line and he's out of town on business. I called him last week and he told me that if I pay half of what he can get for them on ebay that they're mine. :) I won't be going.
How good of a buddy could a Red Sox fan be? :p

How are they AL Champs? They still have to play the Red Sox again tomorrow. If they lose, they'll be tied with the Sox.

I feel sick over what happened today. The Sox should have been AL champs.

Kudos to the Yankees for never giving up.

Yea... if there were a playoff spot in the balance there would be a one game playoff but if the Sox win tomorrow, they're at least the Wild Card.

I was hoping for the Indians to win the wild-card but I'm satisfied that the Astros won it for the NL. Anyway may the best team win. :p

GO ANGELS!

Oops, who won the division again?

indeed... but right now, i'd rather have NY lose the division so that NY would play Chicago instead of the Angels... worse yet, it's not in NY, but had to fly out to CA... and Mussina we don't know what he will do.

if he blanked them until the Yanks put up runs, then yes.

but yes also that this was the biggest game of his career, and he did a lot better, and was put into this position bec. the 'crappy' unit failed, and A-Rod mr MVP is only drawing walks.

tonight, it was ruben sierra with a BIG single... Torre pushed the right matchup button but RS delivered.

Bernie and Crosby have been auto-outs.

Giving up 2 runs to the Angels in a spot like this is doing a fantastic job. The Yankees should have scored more runs with the offense that they have. Chacon was flat out great. Brian Cashman gets raked over the coals in NY but he deserves a lot of credit for seeing something in Chacon (and Small) and bringing him in to town. Crosby is not expected to hit and is only in there for defense. Any hits he may get are a bonus.
