They win tonight with hits off the bats of Womack and Berniew. Two struggling Yankees among a struggling team.

Like I said somewhere in this thread a month or so ago.. Bernie Williams somehow gets that big hit. Say what you will about his declining skills but I still think his bat is dangerous in big moments.

Tigers have a pretty good team with some nice players.

The next couple of days COULD be a nightmare for the Yanks as Pavano has been stratched today and replaced by Chien-Ming Wang, tomorrow its Tanyon Sturtze in a spot start then the Little Unit Randy Johnson on 3 days rest. Should be interesting and the Yankee offense has to step it up a notch.

I highly doubt that hitting well against a detroit tigers team is a big moment....

What I'm talking about is when the Yanks were down 4 - 1 they needed a big hit to catch up and Bernie Williams provided that. I don't mean to say it was an amazing moment just that the Yanks needed a big hit to score some runs and ol' Bernie is the one who got that hit.

Don't sell the Tigers short either..they are a pretty good team and are a few players away from being a contender. Maybe in a couple of years when their young players mature they will contend.

i understand... In years past...all yankee fans talked about , "they're not worried" things are OK and crap like that...now its like don't sell the tigers short...i find it amusing.

Raystorm is hardly a Yankee fan.

As usual... Bernie Williams with the big hit to get the Yanks the lead. Mariano should close the books on this one.

The fantasy leader in my league has BJ Ryan, he's barely beating me... hopefully after this outing, I'll overtake him.

OMG, WTF was Bubba Crosby doing?
Yanks now lead 13-8.

Makes no difference if Bubba was out or anything.. all the Yanks needed was 2 runs and they could give the ball to Mariano who has been prime Mariano the past month or so. I expect a quick 1-2-3 inning.

1-2-3 inning... as I expected. Mariano looks like he's still in his freakin prime. Putrid pitching and BJ Ryan imploded....the O's are fading fast.

Yeah I know, but you gotta see the runner in front of you before going to 2nd base. There were 2 players on 2nd.
Anyway it doesn't matter because the Yanks just won their 3rd straight.

Yankees win again. Giambi is scorching hot. 2 homers yesterday, another today AND two doubles. Randy pitched well against a good-hitting team and the Yanks win their 4th in a row, 1/2 game behing the O's now, and only 3.5 behind the Sox.

Im soooo happy to see Giambi finally take back some steroids. He's back as good as he should be 😀.

Na seriously im soooooooooo happy for him.Im cheering for the Yanks lately just to see him betting better and better.
