yea it seems some of the events in general are much tougher than others. some of the previews i beat by like 10+ seconds, then there are some where i am basically flawless and aren't in within 5 seconds of gold on it so i don't get it.

also, ea has always and always will be ass at AI, so it doesn't really come to a surprise to me how poor the AI in this game is as far as what you are saying. but on the other hand i LOVE the hectic-ness of the crazy pursuit races. i just finished up one where you get 2 cops per racer pretty much and damn it was crazy. got a silver my first go at it but am going to try and get gold on all of em for sure.

Try the demo out first, I did and loved it. I bought the game yesterday and I've put about 10 hours into it so far. Definitely well worth it.

Oh duh, the demo is gone. well, check out a few youtube videos of the game and decide that way.

Well I got all golds in the Racer mode today and I'm at level 17 like 3/4 the way to 18.

I gotta say this game is such a blast. My favorites are flat out races in the hyper series. I'm in love with the McLaren car, that thing is just amazing.

I gotta say too the AI in this game is ridiculous. It is just flat out stupid and obviously breaks the speed barriers to keep up with you and catch up to you. THere was one duel race where I chose a car that is I believe 202mph max and the other one is like 215mph max speed, and I barely lost at the end with a time of 5:50 and I was flying the whole time, no crashes or wall hits, etc.

After that I switched to the OTHER car and it was the same results, being a close race, but this time I won, with a time of 5:30. So that means the other car (which was the same one I used the previous race) got to the finish line in like 5:32. Just doesn't make sense.

Also, the last race is kind of annoying ... it is long ... really long ... much longer than any other race in the game. Needless to say, I was owning the first time I tried it, and with 1 mile left the 2nd place guy all of a sudden passed me, and I couldn't get him.

The 2nd time I tried it, I was literally infront of 2nd place by 8 seconds with 4 miles left. I was racing flawless. WIth 1 mile left he was 1 sec behind me, and he passed me. Luckily this time I pulled infront and got first place.

Needless to say this game is so much fun and I now have to complete the cop mode.

I complete all the events last week and haven't touched it since. I've moved on to DeathSpank 2 and Nail'd. :)

Nearly finished with the racer mode. The McLaren F1 hot lap was a royal pain in the ass. You have to be inch perfect in every single spot to clear it in time. Finally cleared it with roughly one second left. The other PITA was the gauntlet race with the Bentley. Trying to race that thing is like trying to race a cathedral. Throttle maxed, nitrous full blast, COME ON COME ON. Yeesh. Just have to run the long race and that will be the last gold I need, then back to finishing up the cop mode.

They took the demo down once the game was released. Kinda lame actually since the demo is a great way to see if you truly want to buy the game.

They took the demo down once the game was released. Kinda lame actually since the demo is a great way to see if you truly want to buy the game.

yea that McLaren preview race was really hard to get gold in, took me about 6-7 tries and when i got it, I think I got it by .03 seconds so I was happy about that heh.

there were a few others that were tough too but I think that was the toughest. There is another one where you have 2 corvette cops after you and they are just brutal, that one was also tough.

I was in the same boat. I can't find the demo. That's so lame they removed it.

I didn't enjoy the demo but I ordered it anyway since it was on sale during Thanksgiving. It finally arrived last night and so far so good. I'm glad I picked this up, although the Autolog is pretty worthless since none of my friends have this game.

Finished all the cop events with gold tonight. Gotta say, the racer mode was tougher but both are incredibly fun. Still have to get level 20 on the cop, but the online play will take care of that. And it looks like the 1 million views challenge isn't going to happen. No free DLC cars. :( On the plus side, an expansion pack is going to release on the 21st. 13 new events, more achievement, more cars. :)

Anyone up for a Hot Pursuit race night?

Yeah i dont think somebody clarified the "online bullshit" all the way. You have to register with EA AND on the 360 there is a cd-key to input which unlocks more content... sort of a way to keep you from reselling

Add me this is pretty much all i play on console:

i didn't have to register anything with EA, just input the code to get the online play DLC for free.

The Super Sports expansion pack is available for download, just can't unlock yet it. If you're planning on getting the expansion right away, might as well download it now since EA's servers will probably be hammered Tuesday. On the plus side, the three cars from the one million views challenge (Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible, Lamborghini Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster, Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible Final Edition) are included in the update and are live right now. :)

Are there no cops in Free Roam? I just want to run from the police, I don't care about races and time trials... I did free roam in the Veyron for like 20 minutes and never saw a single cop. This made me sad.

No, all free roam is designed for is to learn the roads and enjoy the scenery.
I did it for about half an hour before getting bored.

The expansion has gone live. Eight new events for the racer, five for the cop. There's another big race for the racer mode, only 30 miles this time. :D A bunch of new achievements, some seem dead simple but there are others that are a bit difficult. Well worth the $7 IMO. The Veyron SS is insane, grips like crazy even in the wet.
