When UC was ranked No.1 a few years back, Xavier beat us in the Cross Town Shootout, for the rest of the year UC fans had to hear.......No.1 in the Country, No.2 In the City!!! It was infuriating!
 
*bump* for the Friday games. Here's hoping that Cincy and OSU are alive after this weekend so they can meet in the Sweet 16!
 
As another Cincinnatian (although I went to Miami University), I would really, really rather see UC take on Kentucky sometime. People from Kentucky call the sports radio talk shows all the time just to bash Cincinnati. Given that there's some hatred there, you'd think the schools would try to schedule a game sometime... OH well, won't happen in this tournament.
 
Everyone is raving about Cincy. When will people learn that Huggins can only buy regular season wins, not tournament games.

I liked seeing Wyoming win...that was sweet. USC, where the heck were you guys?

I like Xavier over Hawaii today with no problems. Xavier is usually good for 1 win in the tourney.
 
Woohoo! I'm leading the office pool by a HEALTHY margin. I was 13 for 16 yesterday and picked the "upsets" of Kent St., Missouri, and Tulsa which gave me a massive lead in points. I lost out on USC and Gonzaga (but so did everyone else.) Charlotte let me down though. Oh well. I didn't have any of my lost games going past the next round anyway. Hopefully today will go as well as yesterday.

Duke looked to be frighteningly immortal last night. 🙁 I've picked Kansas to win it all and they scared the hell out of me in the first half last night. My alma mater (Alabama) also struggled for awhile yesterday. If they EVER learn to shoot well consistently they could hang with just about anybody.

Hehe, true. It's just agonizing because they're fantastic from the free throw line (something I think will help them make it a couple rounds deeper if the games are close) but they are absolutely one of the worst shooting top 10 teams I've ever seen. Yet they continue to win game after game. They don't turn the ball over much, play fantastic defense (although not yesterday), they rebound very well, they've got nearly all facets of the game down EXCEPT shooting. So what I'm saying is, they're already very, very good even though they don't shoot well. IF they could shoot even AVERAGE (by most teams' standards anyway) they would be phenomenal.

Looks like NC State made it...talk about Night and Day halves..

From playing like UNC in the first half to playing like they are capable of in the second half...

Good thing..I've got them beating UConn next
 
out of yesterday....i only got like four or five correct. i'm screwed. so now i hope there is nothing but upsets. and i hope NC State plays well and goes far. that Florida game looks crazy...i might have to sneak away from my desk into the lunch room to watch the end of OT

Florida is prssing their luck right here. They need start knocking down the free throws and put the D on.

Florida should have it though..Creighton has two players that are already fouled out..but as with the other overrated florida team, Miami...nothing else would surprise me.

I had them going out to Illinois in the next round anyways...Let's go Creighton!
