NJ stayed with SA during 1st half. so it is really the 3rd quarter that they stunk up really really badly.
I think SA stayed with NJ the first half and played down to their level. SA is a much better scoring team than the pistons, 42 is pretty low for them.

duncan gets away with his hand on the defender everytime he goes up for a block. its generally a foul for everyone else.

Yahooooooooo. The Spurs are whoopin' some candy butt! And the East fans never believe that the west is so much stronger. Maybe they need proof for yet another year. NJ can't contend against the Spurs. I think Kidd is gonna base his Free Agency on these finals. When he realizes that the west is better he'll bail from the Nets. He can't win a championship in the East.

Jermaine Oneal might follow him. Though I wish the East would develop some stronger teams to be more competitive.

I'm sure we'll start to see a trend soon. Right now most of the best players are in the West and more this year will go there. Then there will be too many good players in the West so some will end up going to the East because of salary reasons.

What year was, the first time that Magics lakers beat the celtics i believe, like '85 or so, when the celtics STOMPED the lakers in the first game. it was soo lopsided, it was like a 30 pt win or something like that, but the lakers came back to win the series.

it's not over till one of the teams wins 4 games. FOUR games.

and I'm not so sure kidd makes the spurs a better team over parker either. He can't score in the half court as well as parker can, which takes alot of pressure off the middle, and parker plays very good defense. If this trend continues the spurs are better off going after a center to allow duncan to play pf and not have to guard the other centers.

Yeah I don't understand the reasoning with Kidd to SA. Parker is very quick, good defensively, and has tons of upside. SA would get more out of their salary cap by signing a player to replace The Admiral.

i started a whole thread where i said i hope NJ does a sign and trade deal with Kidd for Parker and a few other players to make up salary.

Hey, i don't mind giving up kidd if i get parker (a young talent) back.

Spurs just may sweep the Nets. I think the Nets could maybe take the 8th seed in the west which is Pheonix, but there is no chance in hell they beat the other western seeds in a playoff series. I can't wait to go get my Spurs Champion shirts at the local gas station.

in february people didn't realize how good the spurs could be this year with parker, but parker has surprised alot of people (and continues to) and the spurs have surprised even themselves getting to the finals, as david robinson admits.

kidd was supposed to plug a big whole, parker, and that hole doesn't really exist anymore. In fact its almost the opposite, he can be a major factor in winning this series if he plays like he did today.

good Lord, Tim Duncan had a monster game

32 pts, 20 rebs, 6 asts, 7 blks

fantasy basketball wet dream :D

Kidd was launching bricks all game long. Crazy thing is that he almost had a triple double! Anyways, I picked the Spurs in 6. We'll see how the Nets respond in game 2. They say the playoffs is about adjustments. If the Nets want any chance to win, K-Mart must NOT get into foul trouble. Some of his early fouls were just stupid on his part. With Kenyon in and Kidd shooting a normal percentage, they still have plenty of life.

Kidd's "normal" percentage is 40%. this is what he is. a terrible shooter who teams fall out of love with when they realize it'll never change. sooner or later the opposition does what SA did last night. let him shoot, whatever jumper he wants. if it's not layups, he will miss. that's why they started calling him Ason all the way back at Cal. no J. and that's why you will never see him with a title. the defenders just keep backing up.

also, reason #58 why stupid, made-up stats like "triple-double" are meaningless. he almost had one, but never had an effect on the game on either end. why not a stat for guys who had at least 5 of everything--points, rebs, assists, fouls, TO's, steals, out-of-wedlock children with different mothers, and felony gun and /or domestic violence charges. that stat would mean just as much as "triple-double."
