Was gonna start an official thread for tonight's Lakers/Wolves game, but I saw this conglomeration thread (which isn't working too well).
Anywho, I'll give my thoughts on conference finals going on.
First up, Pistons and Pacers. I'd like to see the Pistons win, mainly because I like Prince (UK alum), Rip, and Ben Wallace. Larry Brown is a helluva coach, too. The Pistons have great defense, and I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing every shot blocked so far in the East Conference finals.
Next, Lakers and Wolves. Although I like Garnett, I like the Lakers too much. Just seeing Malone and Payton get a ring would bring a tear to my eye (well, not really). Plus, although many people hate them, I just like watching Shaq and Kobe play.
I feel like the Lakers will win it tonight in Game 6. Game 5 was a mockery, as the Lakers looked as if they weren't even trying that hard, and still only lost by 2 in the end. I honestly think the Lakers are tired of winning series on the road. They just wanted to bring it back to the Staples Center.
Ya, I'm aware of the fact that they only lost by 2 because of Fisher's shooting at the end, but a shot at the beginning of the 4th counts the same as a shot at the end of the 4th. Without those shots, you say the Wolves margin of vicory would've been substantially higher? By what? 3 more points? I can see not counting that last second 3-pointer heave, but anything before that is fair game.Originally posted by: CubicZirconia
The wolves only lost by two because Fisher was making a lot of somewhat lucky shots at the end. I realize he's a great shooter, but he was not taking high percentage shots. They happened to fall in. If they don't the Wolve's margin of victory would have been substantially higher.
If you haven't guessed, I'm a wolves fan. And frankly, unless you happen to live in L.A., I can't see any good reason why you'd want to see L.A. in the finals. It's like rooting for the yankees. Yippe, they win another world series. Who cares. And as far as Malone and Payton go, I don't give a damn if they ever win a championship. I can't blame them for trying to skate along with Kobe and Shaq, but it won't bother me if they never get a ring.

I don't live in LA, but I like the players the Lakers have. That's good enough for me. I want Malone and Payton to win a championship because they are getting close to retirement (Malone more than Payton). Garnett has a healthy career still ahead of him to win one.
