Regrettably, the "Shutdown Bug" I was previously experiencing while using BIOS 1.9 has come back to haunt me while using BIOS 1.6! It happened during my 12th shutdown since downgrading to BIOS 1.6. While commanding a shutdown, a restart instead happened. CHKDSK ran and again corrupted my Netscape 7.2 user profile. Netscape was not running at the time of shutdown. Consequently, I am inclined to conclude that MSI may be right after all. It may be a piece of my hardware or software that is causing the issue. However, I am at a loss as to how to narrow down the cause without sacrificing functionality. Regarding the hardware, the only things I can move or remove is RAM and a PCI SCSI card. Regarding software, it could be one of any number of pieces related to the new hardware. I am sure I scared many people off by my previous posts regarding BIOS 1.9. I would like to apologize for leading everone to a faulty conclusion and encourage others to give BIOS 1.9 another try.
