Is this board picky with memory like some of the other 875 boards? Can I use Corsair 3200 EL or should I use OCZ, Mushkin?

no idea, but I'm definitely confused on which board to buy now; the msi fisr or the abit ic7g. after reading that review for the msi board I'm not so set on the abit board.

Where to order this board from? Can't find it through price-grabber but the review I read showed it pretty much rocked.

I have a Neo-LSR and I am getting very high NB temperatures. Everything else is fine with the machine but I am gettin NB readings of 65 degrees Cel. My case seems to be keeping everything else cool....I am really worried.

The only one that seems to be available in canada is the P4C800... I'm from Montreal and looking for the MSI or the Abit... Where did you order it from ? Can you keep me posted how much you'll have to pay... last time i ordered from the US i got burned real bad with the duty fees :| Thanks...

BTW, what happend to the review of the MSI board that never showed up ? Last i heard the review was all done... all that remained was uploading it to the server ?!

PS : anyone know a canadien equivalent to newegg ? I don't know of any store up here that gets the new releases fast... Thanks.

I don't have the board yet but it seems that a lot of people have problems with high temps on the NB... There is some talk about that issue on the MSI forums... but of course no answer... :D

does anyone have more info on that ?

My guess would be that the feature that keeps the noise down by making the fans rpm slow down is causing the overheating.

Turning that feature off an making the fan spin full speed should fix the problem.

Whenever I see a temp reading issue on a new board, I always question it. I've had enough boards and have not seen two read anything the same. Is there a temp issue that is causing a problem, or does it just read high. For instance, an Asus and an Abit will read ~ 12c different on a CPU temp reading. My Albatron has very funky temp readings.

so, does anybody have any benchies that show the performance differences between the $105 865pe solution, and the $170 875p solution? I know the 865pe doesnt get "PAT," but can anybody quantify the performance difference as a result? Maybe somebody that got a board could run a benchie or two and post it??

Thanks,
butch ;)

Supposedly "PAT" is suppose to reduce memory latency. However, this hasn't always been the case. According to Ramguy on Corsair's message boards, they recommend 2336 timings on all canterwoods boards when using TwinX modules. The Asus Canterwood is the only exception as it runs stable at 2226, albeit with only two slots occupied.

Abit is supposedly looking into the issue as well.

Just bought the Neo-FIS2R at Newegg last night. Hopefully I can have something (positive, preferably) to contribute to this official thread.

I ordered the MSI 875 Neo FIS2R from Gameve on Friday. Monday they cancelled the order, out of stock.

The people at Gameve were nice enough to charge my credit card though. Now I'm waiting for a credit for a product that was never even shipped!

I wont be doing business with Gameve ever again. I advise everyone else to do the same.

Boy, I sure hope that the i865's become a more appealing alternative than the best SiS655?s. I am sure they will overclock better, because of their native 200mhz fsb support, but I have heard that dual ddr 400 isnt supported by one or both of the new chipsets when used with a 533fsb proc. Is any of this true?

And another thought- Does anyone know why the MSI i865's are out now and we haven't heard a word of any other manufacturer's plans yet other than intentions? ;-)

Will I be able to use the extra Ultra ATA 133 for two additional devices without using Raid? Will it work for my primary HD with the OS on it?

So did anyone get the Neo-FIS2R yet? After reading the review on Hardwarezone.com, I am leaning towards getting this board over the Asus. It has faster performance, cheaper, and more features.
