I'm not at home to verify but people in twitter say that there is an elite playlist

Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk

It has the stock maps mixed in.

Eventually got to try out both - I will say that if you're not a fan of labyrinthine maps, you will NOT like these. The central park map in particular is SO complicated. At least piazza is small..gonna take weeks to get the hang of liberation.

Will I need to go to the store to get the maps or ELITE? Not home now so I have no idea but I want to get my wife to start downloading them so I can play when I get off work later.

lol at first i thought you were asking if you had to go to the store like Walmart to buy the maps or to buy Elite. I was so confused.

You probably will go to the xbox live shop/store to d/l the map packs as usual.

You go to the "store" section in the MP menu, and pick DL elite content. Has nothing to do with the elite app, it's all in game.

The maps ain't too big, I think it was like 200ish MB for both.

First impression is that maps are pretty good. Marksman helps out a lot on liberation. Also pretty fun to play with the new and improved shotguns on piazza. They feel useful now but not overpowered...was having a good time with that KSG for once.

For the first time, I also noticed a pretty huge difference in the spawning - seems like now, you almost always spawn directly (and I mean *directly*) next to a teammate. Leads to a lot more bunching up of people than usual.

Not bad for the first drop. I wonder what's next? I know they're claiming DLC is more than just maps this time, but I can't see how they go a month without at least one new MP map. I think they know thats what people really want. I'd guess 10-12 new maps, 2-4 old maps, 4-5 pieces of other stuff. 20 pieces over 9 months is 2.2 a month, so this is actually one of the smaller drops. The big map packs felt like more of an event I guess, but I kinda like the constant dribble.

So here's the official schedule.

February: Map
March: Map, two missions
April: Two maps
May: Map, mission
June: Map, mission, mode
July: Two maps
August: Map, mission, mode
September: Map, mission

So that's 12 maps, 2 modes, 6 missions. Dunno why they didn't just communicate this from the start. Seems like a lot of people got all ants in the pants because they were under the impression that we were only getting 4 packs of 2 maps.

It's almost as if they don't understand their own public image as the evil empire that wants to screw and milk the consumer out of every cent.

Oh I'm sure Kotick understands but doesn't care.

For the maps I agree marksman makes a difference. Not sure if I like them much yet.

Got the maps but didnt have a chance to play them. I plan on running a private match first and learn the routes before playing them online. I like to do my homework first.

whats with the lag? has it always been this bad? or is it the patch?

Don't know, but I was lagging pretty badly last night as well. Night before was great though. Then again, it might be a performance thing with me. I was getting to the Osprey with ease the night before. Last night, I played pretty poor.. lol

I played on patch day, and it was horrid, what I saw vs killcam was never close to the same

Know what you mean. There was one instance last night where I appeared to be first, had my crosshair right at a guys head and blasted away. I got zero hit markers, and died. Killcam showed that I didn't even pull up my gun.

This happens to might quite often.

Same. It's just how it is, and how it's always going to be. I've always said people shouldn't hold their breath for a fix.

I generally have a better time getting a good connection when I'm playing solo, since it can match just me to a nearby host. As soon as I start joining groups with people spread out geographically on different ISPs, its lag time. If I'm in NY and my friend is in CA or TX, there's just no real solution to that problem. Just suck it up and enjoy the game.

So 50 bucks for 12 maps basically. I don't care for the missions and we will see if the game modes are worth a damn. When before I could get 15 maps for 45 bucks and choose if I wanted to purchase the pack instead of being locked into the purchases all upfront.

It seems like this elite service is not such a good deal.

There were only 12 DLC MP maps for blops.

Ok, so 45 for those 12 versus 15. But the key difference being when I get bored with the game I don't have to buy the next mappack. I guess my point is that its not as good of a deal as before and its just a way for the devs. to increase how much money they make, not really provide a 'new' service. Nothing ground breaking about elite, they just bundled everything together and named it.

No one forced you to purchase it - nobody knew the amount of content being released (mind you, you're looking at it as just map packs when it also includes expanded video & screenshot storage, new spec ops missions, game modes and some other online abilities over non-paying Elite users.) I got it with Hardened, which I got because all my previous versions of the game are Hardened.
