IMO, the MP5 > UMP45 in CQB situations (60% of the engagements). The gun recoils in a circular path and has an especially accurate hip-fire when combined with steady aim. The UMP45 has an erratic recoil that makes it hard to kill someone with automatic fire at mid range since the primary advantage of submachine guns, maneuverability and fire rate, is lost. The extra stopping power of the UMP45 is not going to help that much when the MP5 can pull off more bullets when going from sprinting to shooting.

Also, I hope Black Ops doesn't have nukes. I am almost always on the winning side of a nuke, but it's just a joy killer. I have a friend who could probably get a nuke legitly quite often but never uses it, it's just dumb. Even getting an AC-130 or chopper gunner isn't a guaranteed victory, lost a few maps because our best player can't make up for our worst. A nuke is just... dumb.

The toobing is absolutely out of hand in this game. I admit that I do it sometimes simply because it's woefully overpowered. They could fix it with two things: Get rid of Danger Close and make it so that Scavenger/OMA don't refill grenades/toob shots/claymores.

I believe Treyarch already said that they are getting rid of the Nuke.

I will definitely try out the other LMGs. I just used AUG because I was familiar with it from CS haha and I do see a lot of people using the RPD.
I guess most of the time I do spray the ammo so SCAR is not a great option and find extended mags to be a waste of an attachment.

Give the RPD a whirl, it's just fantastic. The AUG is reminiscent of the CS days but it handles alot differently. I've started running a new setup, RPD w/grip and One Man Army. When you pro OMA out you get 3 second reloads and infinite ammo (essentially). Even with SoH the reload takes more than 3 seconds.

I don't "spray" with the SCAR-H but there's been quite a few firefights where it's me vs. 2 or so and the extra rounds make a world of difference. It doesn't need a dot, FMJ is nice, the only thing I'd consider using instead of extended mags is the suppressor though.

Don't thread crap - either post in the BC2 thread, or actually post some facts or observations to back up your claim. We don't really GAF about your opinion, as everyone is entitled to it.

I'll agree, for CQB the MP5K is a better weapon, but the UMP is more versatile overall methinks. I've sniped people across the map with the UMP (3 shots even w/o stopping power). Since you don't need SP you get to throw on Cold Blooded, Harline, or Lightweight.

I like both, I use the UMP much more often though.

Ya know, its pretty rare i get super frustrated and just leave a game. but last night i did. Playing Merc TDM. First few games i keep being on the losing team. Its not even close, like 75-40. Most of the points are from me. Seemed like game after game was the same teams, i mean come on you stupid teammaker lets stop putting the top 4 people from the game on the same team. But th last game was scrapyard. After about two minutes in it just got stupid. Harrier, harrier, apache, harrier, harrier, ac130, harrier. I left after the ac130 and harrier. I hope black ops has some sort of cooldown on airstrikes. It was basically walk out side and get killed right away by a kill streak.

First real game where i've gotten pissed off over the killstreaks though!

Gonna agree here, mp5 easily better than ump at CQB. Like Kabob says though, ump, clearly more versatile and great at long range if you can control the recoil. Anytime we're on a map where I snipe, my buddy is always saying "yah? me too, I'm sniping with the UMP".

that happens to me on mtdm sometimes as well. Happened in a match over the weekend actually. I went 15-2, and my team lost 7500-4100...WTF? I knocked down all their kill streaks, or tried to at least. Team mates just ran around and died.

I loved using one many army pro when I was leveling it up. I would use it to reload so often that I was surprised.

My team was completely suppressing the other team keeping them into the C flag building. I was using a M16 with scavenger pro and danger close (trying to level up all 3) and kept tubing the left side and killing at least one person with every other grenade while thinking to myself, "see how annoyingly cheap this is and how little skill it requires?"

The more annoying thing about the harrier strikes, air support, pave lows, ac 130s, and chopper gunner is when no one on your team really bothers to take them down. I played a ground war team deathmatch once with my friend and we were getting owned. I think I spent 95% of the time with a stinger taking down as many of the air support as I could because no one else bothered to.

This is the one thing that is really usefull with OMA... switching to my CB class with stinger equiped. Well, not as great as using it for reloading noob tubes, but still great.

I am probably in the minority on this, but I actually like almost everything about the game even OMA, Scavenger, and all the cheesy perks, Kill streaks, and all that. It's what keeps me coming back. There's a negative to everything positive in the game.

If you run around with tac-nife, a camper with a spas will blow your brains away.

If you nube tube a lot, there will be moments when you're in the nade launching mode and some one pops up with an ar blasting at you.

If you quickscope, you aren't going to quickscope a long range sniper staring you down.

If you know you're host and dashboard while someone launched a nuke, the same will happen to you at some point.

The list goes on when it comes to plus and minus on anything.

The only thing I really hate are boosters and hackers.

i was playing demolition/afghan and the other team was getting emergency airdrops like crazy. i counted 14 of them during a 3 round match. is there some kind of hack/glitch out right now for emergency airdrops? i know there was one out a few months ago. they kept getting chopper gunners thru them which pissed me off.

This is my role.

The guys I usually play with from AVS (Kabob as well) are way better then me. I usually have a break even or a negative K - D ratio so I just make it my job to shoot down everything that comes in the sky.

This and spotting (ie I get shot and am able to tell my teammates where the baddies are). I know my role and like it just fine. It sucked when I prestiged and didn't have stingers as an AT4 sucks for taking down anything.

I don't mind this role one bit.

Most of my classes used to run with a Stinger, I was "that guy" on the team. Not my only role but as soon as aircraft was above I was aiming.

I love prestiging, earning gear back, completing challenges, lots of fun!

I was in the same boat not to long ago. To prestige or not. I say just do it. At least once. Really it goes way quicker the second time than it ever did the first time. Skill wise you are better, more challenges, its just quicker.

I was in a game where I went something like 27/7, and 4 people on my team had 0 kills. I didn't even realize how bad we were doing till it was over. I usually rambo it up.

And from what I understand, killstreak rewards won't count towards your killstreak in Black Ops, so that should severely limit the big stuff except from care packages. Also, no nukes.

After my first prestige I said never again. But I finally did it anyway. Fact is, one of the best guns in the game you get from lvl 1 so it's actually not bad. I miss my 1887's and claymores, but it also helped me change some of my strategy and use other perks.

Plus you level faster after the first prestige, as you now have additional challenges to unlock. Some of them continue even after you prestige again, like all the weapon prestige challenges. I figure I'll just keep doing it until it's done so I can say I did it. Although I don't think I'll get it done before Black Ops.

I agree, I don't understand why people ignore them and just get shot up. If you go with scavenger, the stinger/jav can be a great secondary though. Especially if you prestige, it can be easy points. Jav is so much fun on some maps.

Yeah i did run with a stinger before i prestige for awhile. Felt like either i was the only one shooting things down or there were 4 or 5 other people lol. I have had more fun with a shotgun as a secondary though so meh. Hopefully black ops learns from MW2 and can fix up some of the kill streaks.

they need to get rid of OMA and TI. TI is the worst I've got guys on my team going 0-20 1-22 etc. That's just not possible. Half the nukes seem to come from games with some weird crap like this.

Just like how my team pinned down the other team in domination high rise on the C side earlier, I happen to be on the other side of things about a couple of hours ago. Couldn't even get out with the other team watching every single exit with grenade launchers and occasional rpgs. I wanted to throw my controller.

On a happier note, I decided to go through with prestige mode which would "force" me to try out the other guns instead of using the guns I'm comfortable with like the M4. I've been using the MP5K, UMP, RPD, Barrett, and eventually will use the SCAR and FAL. I'm really loving the RPD especially with stopping power; It's ridiculously strong and since it only takes a few bullets to kill someone, it forces me to not spray as much (somewhat). I've always sucked at sniping, but I'm trying. It just seems to take a lot of patience and the R3 seems to be kind of useless. Anyone got tips on using the sniper rifles?

Oh and out of curiosity, what sensitivity do you guys use? I just use medium.

I would almost use the FAL over sniping. 2 shots without stopping power. Put on hardline and win with killstreaks. I suck at sniping but I had a pretty funny shot tonight with the barrett. My first shot caught him right in the nuts, but since it's a "limb" shot it didn't kill him. Second shot caught him between the eyes though.

I suck at sniping though. I get way more kills run and gun.

I wouldn't stop there...several of the of the better guns in the game are lvl 1 weapons: M4A1, FAMAS, RPD, UMP, Intervention, PP2000, SPAS-12, etc, and it doesn't take long at all to unlock the SCAR-H. Really the only solid weapons that most people will miss by prestiging are the ACR, M16, AUG, Stinger, and maybe the AA-12 and M1014, and all of those I can live without except the Stinger.

I understand that's where alot of people think the issues stem from but look back to CoD 4, no one complained about the prevalence of noob tubes because no one used them. Why? Because you had 2 shots (with a moderate blast radius) and then a "useless" attachment on your weapon.

The issue in MW2 is that people get unlimited shots with Scavenger and OMA, and combining that with Danger Close you've got a 1 man mortar team. Get rid of DC, and make it so that Scav and OMA don't refill your shots and the problem goes away.

Sniper rifles just take a different play style. I am awful at sniping and it's because of the whole "hold breath" thing.

I think I'm at 9 or 10.

FAL is 2 shots up close w/o stopping power, 2 shots from far away w/stopping power & holographic sight.

I actually use low sensitivity and here's some advice when it comes to sniping.

Hold your breath only when you're ready to fire. Don't waste it. Example, you're ADS and see a guy running, you hold your breath and fire but miss and he runs and hides. Let go of the left stick and wait for his head to pop back up. It takes alot of getting used to of course. Another thing is, don't ADS all day, Look around for movement before you pin point a location you want to fire. Last but not least, don't stay in one place all day.
