Yeah the patch reduced 1887 range, but not sure by how much and not sure what else it did.

EDIT: Also fixed private match glitch.

I don't debate it. I just think it is rather silly. Giving people "numbers" to follow just makes them play for the numbers, not for the team or the game.

Bad Company seemed a LOT more team oriented than this game. I'm almost at the point of considering selling this and just waiting for BC2.
Plus I suck at this game and there's no where for sucky players to hide and learn. The battlefield is just too small to wait for anything.

I think thats why they also include the "score" numbers. I've had objective rounds where i lead the team in score, but my kills:death is like 5:30, but i did work on the objectives, and we won. If you care more about that you can look at the score.

i know i personally wish i could reset my K😀 because while learning to play i was anywhere between .30-.50, and if I could reset it now I know i'd be more like 1.3ish. It is taking me forever to get it back to 1.0 though i've worked it to .92. haha.

And see, that is exactly why its fun. I dont really care about using the numbers to compete with other people and i know that when i play the objective games it will totally whack it out, but its fun for me personally to track it and see myself improve.

As i said earlier in this thread i've never played online multiplayer like this before, so everything that goes to me improving and seeing it is a blast.

I'm in the same boat. I've worked my way back up to a .95, but getting to 1.0 is going to be difficult.

You debate it? Half the people who play do so in large part because they like seeing how they stack up against the rest of the world.

yes i would strongly debate that if the leaderboards were reset that over 1/2 the people would just flat out stop playing, but it is kind of pointless since we will never know real numbers or anything in this hypothetical situation.

i mean obviously there is no way we can ever tell this, but when the stats reset in halo 2 it didn't change a thing.

if they reset for everyone, they can still see where they stand up against the rest of the world.

in fact it would probably make your stats better because you wouldn't have your growing pains in the stats.

personally i've checked my stats twice since i've owned MW2. but i am not hardcore into that game at all and have pretty much already stopped playing it, but i wouldn't be one of the ones who would stop playing a game i love simply because some numbers that mean absolutely nothing to the fun i have while playing were erased. that is just silly.

I wouldn't quit but I would be extremely pissed. I'm up to level 65 and I've put 2.5 days of game time in this game, I haven't done anything for my stats to be reset, I should get to keep them. I don't care how I match up against the rest of the world, but I use my stats to gauge how well I'm playing. There is no need to reset the stats. I agree that many people would quit playing all together, not half, but it would definitely be a large number.

So, I played my first real game of 3rd person since the glitch came out and wow. 48-4.
Not bad considering I've had no practice. The connections seemed to be fixed as well.

Oh hooray...way to go IW...

From the IW forums:

There is a work around on the Akimbo 1887's.

Word on the street is if you use the Bling Pro perk and equip the FMJ and Akimbo attachments to the model 1887, the range is the same as pre patch. They only patched it when it was akimbo, not when it was akimbo and fmj, so the fmj bypasses the patch and returns the original range.

This vid is on the PS3, but it is the same thing on the 360. Numerous posters on the IW forums have confirmed it.

Can you say "ineptitude?"

programming fail.

jesus f'ing christ. at least this will force the noobs to use bling, which imo is a crappy perk

They should just delete the 1887's from the game. It's called Modern Warfare. We don't need 100 year old shotguns in the game.

Maybe in MW3 they will make a civil war musket the most powerful weapon in the game...

They still haven't fixed melee, and no amount of patching will make up for team mates with down syndrome. I just went through the first half of a CTF game and I was the only person on my team with any kills. How can you go that long with 0 kills?

i only saw one tard tonight using the akimbo 1887 with fmj tonight. the patch seems to have rectified the problem.

only problem is, it seems like more people are carrying launchers now that they can't noob it up with 1887's. my air support keeps getting shot down
