Last night a kid was talking about how they stole "Double Kill" from Halo, and I (stupidly) responded saying that Unreal Tournament had it well before that.

First he called me a lovely human. Then he said he didn't know what UT was. I facepalmed and told him it was the same company that made Gears of War.

D:

You have to realize that on console, Halo is God and invented everything. Halo was the first FPS ever created and was amazingly perfect.

It's a rocket! It's not supposed to fire slow. What they need to do is fix the bug.

I am aware what a rocket is. My issue is with how it was being used. It is not a close quarters weapon. You should not be able to sprint and just fire the thing spray and pray style. Like I was saying, I got killed three times on sub base trying to defend the "C" flag. For those that don't know it is inside the garage type area. One guy would come running through the door and fire it and kill me point blank.

Boobs he is not firing it. You can't even fire the javelin without lock on. It's a glitch.

I switched to Hardcore recently, mainly due to the Energy Sword perk... err... I man Commando perk (getting knifed by a guy 20 feet away blows) and a few other annoyances. I'm finding Hardcore at least tolerable, whereas the regular mode just blows.

i have also.

I can't stand the regular deathmatch modes. It is reminding me why i hated online games like this. People figure out the cheapest way to kill people rather than trying to play the game.

I have been lucky enough to not see the javelin thing, but that sounds terrible.

I can't stand the akimbo stuff and the commando knives. its just bullshit.

Hardcore match players also seem much cooler. You don't get as much bad language and aggro teens.

I saw a level pop up "rust" yesterday...i've never played it. It just showed up as it was trying to find a lobby, and I ended up being put in a different game. Is that a real map?

EDIT- how long does it typically take for a first patch to come out?

Right, I just meant the bug/glitch needs to be fixed. My issue is not with the velocity of the projectile but at the fire rate/bug ridden death shots that are being used. I really like the game, but I don't want things like this to ruin it. Hopefully it will get patched shortly.

GW Domination is by far my favorite game type. It forces people to not be panzies and take control points. If they choose to camp, they lose. Unless my team is getting completely slaughtered, I don't have problems dealing with a few campers in domination.

does anyone use heartbeat sensor? i used to see it all the time in the killcam and think "i can't wait to unlock that". but now that i've equipped it in a few profiles i find i do worse with it because i am relying too heavily on it compared to good habits like checking radar and listening to the audio clues.

i'll probably get rid of it.

Honestly all that you guys are saying is the very reason that IW needed an open beta. They did it on CoD 4 and put out a patch upon the game's release (IIRC correctly) which fixed quite a few bugs, although nothing to the level that they've had so far. But serious it's not just bugs, it's balancing issues, it's horribly designed maps (remember when CoD 4 came out the dev's talked about playing unskinned maps to make sure that it played well/fun before skinning them? Did they skip that step this time?), it's glitched and overpowered weapons. Granted, in an open beta I don't know how many people would have hit the levels to unlock the Ranger shotguns and the Javelin...but still.

+1, I'm starting to hate Commando (and when I first heard of it I was sure it'd be a waste of a perk). Come on, knife me from 10 feet away?

It's also bugged. People using the Ninja perk still show up sometimes, it gets frusterating, why the heck am I using Ninja if it doesn't do what it's supposed to?

I enjoy Domination alot more in this game than I did in CoD 4. I honestly think one of my favorite Domination maps is Skidrow, trying to hold/capture the B point in the long hall is freaking hillarious!

Ahh, it was mugs who said it, not you.

Based soley on their drop rates I can't believe it. Like I said, I've in the hundreds of Care Packages I've dropped I've gotten about 5 total AC-130's and Chopper Gunners. Maybe 6-7 Pave Lows, 5 or so Stealth Bombers, etc.

In two nights of using care packages I got 3 each of the AC-130 and the chopper gunner. Seriously. I have no reason to lie. Last night I got more UAVs and counter-UAVs than previously, so I'm probably getting closer to the frequencies you listed. With a small sample size it's not unusual to be far off from the expected outcome.

I ditched it because I had the same problem you have. I relied on it to heavily, and I couldn't figure out relative distances. Radar is much more useful.

I've been a care package whore lately and I always get lots of good loot. I use Care Package/Predator/Emergency Airdrop at the moment. I like to switch it up all the time though. I had it set on Predator missile/Pavelow/chopper gunner I think but i got tired of that.

I wasn't calling you a liar, I was just amazed. I can believe it though, when I first started playing I got an EMP 2 games in a row (at level 6 or 7 or something like that).

Typically you'll get a UAV, Counter UAV, or ammo. Predators are always pretty nice and anything above that is gravy. I'm tempted to drop Predator and try Emergency Airdrop myself, but I like Predator so much I can't bring myself to it.

I noticed that, as well. I don't use the HBS anymore because, when I do, it's the only thing I pay attention to. Listening for footsteps, following tracers, watching death messages, etc., all provide ample info. Plus, I think the enemy can hear your HBS beeping, so it could thwart your sneak attack.

I usually have my xbox supplied headset off when I play by myself, I only have it on when I play with friends. Too many douches for me to worry about and it saves me the trouble of having to mute.

this whole game favors camping over non-camping, which is primarily the reason i haven't played it in over a week.

Personally, I disagree. It favors smart playing instead of just running and gunning. Campers are easy to fish out, especially with the death cam, I've gotten revenge on many campers who duck by windows or ledges because I know they're there and pop them in the head if they are still pitching their tent there.

We can all agree it needs to get fixed. I just took issue with *what* you think is the issue here. The issue isn't that the rocket fires "too fast." It's a glitch/bug that just needs to be fixed.

I got 2 AC-130s from care packages in ONE match last night.

Anyone else stick with only one class?

I find myself being a better player if I stick with 1 set-up, since I'll be a lot more familiar with a gun.

Pretty much, I would say 90% of my time is with an assault rifle. Went from Scar-H to M-16 and now ACR. I did play around with the 50 cal sniper rifle and the WA2000 to get thermal for both but never really got into sniping.

I've noticed this too, but I thought I was just mistaken when it happened.

Once I finish off my SCAR challenges (1 headshot to hit 75 and 2-3 FMJ penetration skills) I'll probably use the ACR 95% of the time.

I bounce around to other guns to at least get some challenges done. Staying with one class slows leveling enough and there's some perks and guns I still want to unlock.

Same here, I rarely switch it up. I pick one and stick with it for a while at least. After seeing how much more powerful the M16 is than the FAMAS (can that graph really be accurate?) I decided to switch... but now that I've gotten used to playing with a silencer I really hate to play without one. :( I've been switching between stealthy FAMAS and unstealthy M16 until I get my 75 M16 kills, and then I think I'll stick with the M16 until I have to decide whether to do prestige.

My accuracy is horrible with automatics. Until I switched to the FAMAS I was near the bottom of my friends list in accuracy (something like 12%), and I've been gradually working my way up the list since I switched.

I've decided that silencers on assault rifles are pretty useless IMO. As soon as you kill someone with an AR they will instantly spawn and know where you are anyway.

I pretty much got at least 100-200 kills with every weapon, and upgraded all perks the first time to 70. A lot of weapons that seem weak turn out to be pretty solid once you get to know them. The only weapons i'm still not a fan of is the f2000 (too much recoil), the mg4 and m240 (too weak with too much recoil), the pump shottys that you can't go akimbo with, and the m21 sniper rifle (never kills in one shot). The rest are all great.

I have no complaints with the maps, and I've only seen the javelin big once. Even though it didn't have a beta, it was still well balances at launch, the exploits are only coming out recently...it's been nowhere near as bad as gears of war for instance.

It's far from broken but I'm sure they'll keep updating it as exploits come out. The javelin trick is pretty nasty though.
