It's so amusing that the commentators say things like "You haven't been to the Series since '03, you haven't won it since '00.." Come on, it's like every assumes the Yankees should always win. I know they try to buy the Series every year, but give us a break.. the Yankees.. Christ it's annoying.

Agreed. I have a lot of respect for certain players on the Yankees, but I hate how the media simply expects them to win it all every year.

Last I heard they were heavily leaning towards Pedro. Unfortunately, I think Phillies fans will quickly learn why the Red Sox declined to re-sign him after '04.

Shit..I'm a damn Mets fan and hate both teams and I think the series is going be very entertaining. Lee vs CC should be fun. I dunno about that Phillie pen though. I think the Yanks will salivate the second they see Lidge go on the mound. 😛

i seriously think joe buck would let jeter brick in his mouth if he asked.



i do hope its a fun series, and i think it will be. i think you gotta go with hamels as the game 2 starter. sure he's struggled for a better part of the season, but you still have to consider his past track record. not to mention he seems to be more composed and doesnt rattle as easily so he can work out of jams and try to eat up innings and save the bullpen.

I have no doubt that both teams are great. Its just too bad that there's little chance small market teams will ever get the same opportunities. Thats what makes the NFL great. Green Bay is just as likely to win as the New York Football Giants.
