I only picked up my 360 about 3 weeks ago. The only games I've touched in my busy schedule are Guitar Hero 3, Rock Band, and Mass Effect. And right now I care so little about anything but Mass Effect. This is the juicy goodness I need from Bioware since I haven't had a KOTOR in a while. I still feel a bit retarded at times though as I'm sure there's still things I don't understand fully about the basics of the game.

A friend of mine said that the other two volumes of ME trilogy would be out by end of next year, can anyone confirm that? If so... curse and praise Bioware! (Curse because I'll probably only be playing those, praise because I wont have to wait long to continue the story :))

The ME trilogy will appear on the PS3, PC and X360--EA will make sure of that their $860 million purchase is warranted and as profitable as possible.

The only thing I'm not really sure of, is whether or not ME 1 will show up on PS3--but something tells me it just might.

No one can possibly be sure that any game in the Mass Effect series will be on the PS3. Or ME2 or ME3 on even the PC, for that matter, although that is a pretty darn good bet.

I don't think you can completely discount the possibility that a company that's shelled out 50mil for exclusive GTA4 content and God knows how much to keep BioShock off the PS3 could NOT possibly pay to keep the Mass Effect trilogy console exclusive.

Why would ME1 come out on the PC and the sequels not? If anything, I would say that the chances are basically 99% certain and that it would hit at the same time as the other versions.

As far as ME2/3 being exclusives to the X360, I think that $890 aqcuisition says this franchise is going to branch out--and as much as possible. EA doesnt have an excluisve deal on any of it's titles with anyone, do they? I cannot recall one at the moment.

I have no way of proving it, but forking over almost a billion dollars for two developers to produce a series on one console just doesnt make much sense to me.

Regarding the PC, I was merely saying that 99% certain is not "sure". If someone offers to bet me tomorrow that they're not going to be bringing ME2 and ME3 to the PC, I'm wagering the farm.

The 890 million acquisition was NOT merely for Mass Effect. How many people do you know that are privy to the original exclusivity deal that BioWare signed with Microsoft before the EA acquisition? Was it for the first game or just the trilogy? I don't know, the MS/EA shareholders don't know, the media doesn't know, and (to get back to the betting theme of my post :p) I'd wager that not a single one of the people posting speculation in blog comments and message board posts really know, either.

Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars and The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II (and its expansion) were developed and published by EA and made Xbox 360 exclusive. Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath will also be 360 exclusive. As far as titles that they've only published that are exclusive, I don't know.

I'm not saying which way I think is likely, but saying that you're "sure" that Mass Effect is going to be on PS3 is as solid as someone saying they're "sure" MGS4 is coming to the Xbox 360. There's still a substantial possibility that both will remain exclusive.

Watch this, but more specifically--watch at the 12 min mark:

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/29012.html

"Trust me, When EA threw out the number $300 million a yearin revenue from Pandemic and Bioware, that's multi-platform not X360 only. ME2 HAS to come out for the PS3". I'll take Patchers word over yours--no offense. ;)

...and btw, of course I'm not privy to the contract and it's information, but give me a break--of course we're speculating--this is an internet gaming forum. If we all just waited around for contacts to be posted publically, we'd never post. :p

Don't misinterpret my post as me saying that Mass Effect WON'T come out on the PS3. It very well could. My objection is to you saying "The ME trilogy will appear on the PS3".

You don't know that. Michael "I'm only right 60% of the time but I still get paid a ridiculous amount of money to talk about video games" Pachter doesn't know that.

No, you're wrong. God just told me so AND I had a message in my burnt toast this morning that said, "PS3 version of ME trilogy coming FOR SURE!" (it's already on ebay).

-update-
ME2/3 WILL WILL WILL come out for the PS3 and PC. Want me to say it once more?

It's too bad there isn't a scenario where you can outright murder one of your party members. I remember in KOTOR there was a woman who you could help and she would join your party, or you could just slay her and that was that. I think there may have been others that you could end up not having in your party depending on your choices, and towards the end you can kill a couple more of your party members. Very interesting :)

Personally I would take out Liara because she annoyed me. :p

Well I don't know if you did this, but I killed Wrex in Virmire...

Oh right, I forgot about that. I haven't gotten there with my Renegade yet...

I suppose there's that part at the end of Virmire as well, although that's not really the same.

Haha, I don't take any back-talk from my squad members! paragon or not!

He sure is, and he's even right slightly more than half the time.

Now we're off topic, but look at the predictions he made just below the chart. You don't think some some of the more informed members of this forum could make the same style of predictions for 2008 and have a chance at being 60% right? He has predictions akin to "The 360 will see a price drop at E3", "GTA4 will be delayed", "Halo 3 will drive the sales of the Xbox to x sold this month". He's not exactly going out on a limb. He's not that different from us.

Your threat of physical violence shows that you don't have the judgment to be a... Hey, what's that red dot?

On Friday night, I started my second playthough... and I'm already pretty far with like 9 hours in :) I just beat Feros, so I'm going to see if I can hit up this DLC today while my daughter is napping. :D

I just finished the BDtS. It was exactly 214% more entertaining and interesting than most of the side missions included in the game. Takes about 90 minutes to beat completely. For 400 points, I have no issues with it.

Excellent. I look forward to trying it out this evening. Maybe even twice (Paragon, Renegade)?

That's what I'll be doing as well. Actually, I think I'll save right before and try both. :)

My first playthrough needs to be rebooted so I can try for Level 60, but I think I'd rather create yet another new character and perhaps do a female solider or adept. Decisions, decisions.

Modeps, did you get the new achievement?

EDIT: OF course you did. Just saw that it's for completing the DLC.

I've got a female vanguard going right now, but in hindsight I probably have should have gone Adept because now I cant use Singularity. Yep, I got the achievement. Fairly easy 50 points, but quite entertaining. I hope they dont make us wait too long till the next DLC.

I have a male infiltrator for my second play through, which I'm regretting because the sniper rifle suuucks! I should have just done soldier to get all of the weapon achievements. I like the shotgun and pistol, but I already used them plenty my first time around as vanguard.

I wasn't achievement minded when I went through the first time except for the team members... So I wasn't even thinking of adding point to my sniper rifle ability. Its going to be tough going through on insane as a dude with electronics skills for more achievements.

Sniper rifle just sucks when you are at a low level. Once you get the accuracy bonuses, it is a beast - especially the Spectre sniper with explosive rounds. It basically becomes a rocket launcher.

This is exactly my problem. Somehow I didn't get the Krogan ally achievement the first time around even though I used Wrex for the majority of it. I guess I experimented with different combinations of team members too much before I started paying attention.

Hmm, I'll have to try that. I love the explosive rounds! I swear I have my sniper ability nearly maxed out, though. Maybe not.

You know... I beat this game... and am on my second play though... and still feel that desire to do "just one more mission" before shutting down for the evening. What the heck is going on?
