I read somewhere that this is paid DLC, the outfits... 5 missions + a tank for free vs silly outfits (Garrus has an ok one out of the three - finally his armor is fixed!). If they will want any money for the outfits, I'm definitely gonna skip it... Can't wait for the HammerHead and Kasumi (this one I will pay for :)).

Yeah the outfits are a paid DLC pack for 120 MS points ($2).

There's also another upcoming paid DLC that includes an entirely new character, Katsumi. It comes out in April but no announced price yet.

kasumi-02-p.jpg

Cerberus has procured the service of Kasumi Goto, the galaxy's most enigmatic master thief. In return for her help, Kasumi has asked Shepard's help on a dangerous heist to infiltrate the vault of a deadly master criminal named Donovan Hock. Gain Kasumi's loyalty on the planet Bekenstein, where Hock is throwing a party for some of the galaxy's richest and most deranged criminal minds to recover data of great importance to Kasumi... and to the galaxy at large. Includes a new squad member, mission, weapon, research upgrade, casual outfit, and achievement.

What I want to know is since I've already completed the game with a couple of characters, if I do the Katsumi mission in the post-game portion will it still count in ME3? It will be interesting to see how ME3 handles these situations.

Sweet!

Dear Bioware/EA people in charge of this, please allow for interesting on-ship dialogue options with this DLC character, as opposed to the bore-fest that Zaeed became after his loyalty mission. Addtionally, since this character appears to be female, I'm sure no one would complain if there were an additional romance prospect. :awe:

Not happening.

From IGN:

"Like Zaeed, another added character through downloadable content, you can't actually engage in full conversation with her, she just talks at you as you wander around her room."

I figured that would be the case but it's still disappointing nonetheless.

The Firewalker DLC is available for free to dowload to all Cerberus Network members. And let me tell you that it... blows.

- can't save during a mission
- can't exit the tank during a mission (so team composition is pointless)
- it dies in 2-3 seconds under fire - at least on Insanity
- did I tell you you can't save ?
- you only shoot semi-homing rockets - can't zoom or anything
- just in case I forgot: the tank is made of glass and you can't save during a mission - so if you die at the last "checkpoint" you have to repeat the whole mission
- all you do is kill geth and pick up some shit lying around - you pick it up with your tank btw. as you can't exit it during a mission

YAY... not. Hopefully Kasumi will be a bit better...

I don't know. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet and I don't doubt that it is subpar, but if your impressions are entirely based on playing it on Insanity, then I wonder if it's really that bad. Insanity is pretty insane.

Also, I'm torn on the Katsumi DLC. I'd like to play it but $7 seems a bit much for one mission and a half-baked character (a la Zaeed).

My Sentinel Shepard can soak up more damage than the tank... Also on insanity. I am disappointed with the DLC. I wouldn't mind spending money on it if it was fun and challenging. But it's boring and frustrating. I'd prefer Bioware would release premium DLC that is fun to play rather than this letdown, even though it's for free.

Well, in the end, the Firewalker DLC is okay, I guess. And it's for free. I wouldn't pay for it for sure.

The tank handles very well. And it's kinda fun to fly around pew pew'ing stuff with the rockets. The fights are only done in the tank though, which is a bummer.

Yeah, I still haven't done insane (hell I haven't even completed my hardcore Vanguard yet....I don't think. I've had to take a break from the game), but after I get the insanity achievement I'll be sticking with veteran at best. Hardcore and insanity just aren't as fun for me.

Anyway, I definitely look forward to some more serious DLC, on the scale of BDtS for ME1.

Any one try the Kasumi Goto DLC today?

I'll probably try it today when I get home tonight.

i'll probably get it, but i'm disappointed it's another tacked on character and is not fleshed out like the rest.

also holy fuck is infiltrator easier on hardcore than adept. the latter was impossible, but as the former i'm a one man wrecking crew only rivaled by the soldier.

I didn't think hardcore was that bad as adept. Nothing I came across was ever close to as hard as the asari commando fight from ME1

Playing my Solder now on Insanity and so far it's kinda easy... Also, no idea what to take as my extra talent... he's got everything already. Perhaps Fortification as an "oh shit" button. Took Domination and it's not useful at all. Perhaps something for barriers... Warp ammo does extra dmg to it I guess?

Looked for Kasumi and she's not available yet... I wonder what extra talent she will give to me for selection... Perhaps something useful for a soldier?

I'm comparing him to my Sentinel Insanity walkthrough... Sentinel is a killing machine :p Soldier too, it seems... Playstyles are very different though and the game is fun another way :) Can't wait for Kasumi !

Warp ammo + special assault rifle = Rambo mode. I did this with my renegade soldier and it was just silly (on normal difficulty). I only used this and then disruptor ammo for tech/shield enemies.

I'm looking forward to my 2nd play through as a paragon infiltrator/sniper. I'm going to try and play on insanity...we'll see how that goes. I know I'm going to have to adjust my play style heavily. I'll miss smacking my enemies to death.

i never tried ME1 on hardcore, so i'l have to take your word on the last part. hell, that part could be difficult on normal.

but i was just getting owned as an adept. my biotics were great and i found squadmates that really supplemented me well- but none of them were competent enough to lay down the fire that i couldn't.

with infiltrator, i still spend most of my time with the SMG or pistol, but i have more useful attacks (incinerate ftmfw), disruptor, cryo, and warp ammo, plus the tactical cloak and sniper abilities (which should be nuts once i get the viper).

as an adept, all i could do was hide and lob singularities and warps.

I got the expansion and finished it tonight. I would say it's worth it for the LBD if you're playing a female :D

Any thoughts on the DLC?

I would like to play it but I don't have a big desire to revisit the game (or spend $7 for 1 hour of playtime and a half-baked character). I've played through ME2 twice and I feel like I've had enough of it for now. I still need to go back and get the Level 30 achievement, though.

I would say the loyalty quest is a little bit weak, but I plan on playing through many more quests with Kasumi. I played through Garrus' loyalty quest with her last night, and it was entertaining. If your just looking at it for her loyalty quest, it's definitely not worth the $7.

As I mentioned above, one bonus is a new "casual" outfit. I was playing a female Shepard, and you get a Little Black Dress (LBD).

And there's a Collector's SMG too, what's that like? Justin McElroy over at Joystiq wrote that it's pretty much like the other SMGs, although I thought the Collector's assault rifle was pretty useful (despite being similar to the other rifles).

Yep, the SMG is nice, although the damage bonus seems to be offset by an extra small clip, so you reload a lot :).

the collector assault rifle is epic. it's basically the damage of the vindicator but with a faster ROF and a shitpile of ammo. if you're playing soldier, it's the weapon of choice. on lower difficulty levels, you won't even need your teammates.

but collector SMG...what? where do you get that?
