OSU could NOT hit any big shots. Jamar Butler and Ron Lewis could have easily combined for 12 points off of threes if they shot anywhere as close to how they have during the whole tournament. However, Oden was unstoppable in the post, and all you complaining about ticky tack fouls... I honestly didn't see them. But the big man can't do everything by himself... if OSU would've worked the inside-out game more to a perfection (ie make a damn 3) it would have been much different.

Also, the Florida players have NO modesty, and are douchebags. Early in the game when Brewer got the steal and the dunk, and then did the "flying over the ground" a la Shaq... just pretty lame. Then Horford with his shimmy after his dunk. And Noah constantly overreacting. Act like you've made a damn play in your life before. When Ron Lewis skyed over Brewer for his dunk he didn't showboat.

All in all, if the teams played an NBA series style championship, I'd have OSU winning in 6 games. No way OSU is going to be that cold and Florida is going to be that hot all of the time.

Florida's up 2-0 then 😛

Who's surprised? Florida has gotten the lucky bounce all game. Couple that with shooting over 50% from 3-point (under 20% from OSU) and Florida SHOULD be winning by well over 30. But Florida isn't. By my count the way the two teams are playing...OSU would win 8/10 matchups...but Florida got around 80% of the lucky bounces and lucky shots and calls going their way, that's why they're probably going to win by around 10 points.

I have respect for Florida, but it's really frustrating to see this happen..again. All my life I grow up watching Florida teams win championships. Seems like on any given year, some team in Florida wins a championship (pro or college). Florida fans are down-right spoiled now. I put them up there with Yankees fans.

When something happens repeatedly it isn't luck. If OSU had hustled and not relied on Oden to do everything they may have gotten some of those "lucky bounces/rebounds" Couple that with the fact that OSU can't shoot for crap means Florida wins every time. OSU needed a different strategy rather than relying on "luck" to get rebounds etc. Anyways, it was a GG Oden is definitely going pro, it's hard to stop a guy that big, plus he played hard the whole game, so definite props to him.

Heh, maybe because they won 25 in a row, and won in the playoffs 😀 All in all I'm glad we played them over Georgetown. I feel bad for all of the Freshmen/Sophmores here at UF, they are definitely spoiled, the party on University Ave was pretty tame last night compared to previous wins. I on the other hand had to suffer through two years of Ron Zook so I feel like I've paid my dues 😛

And what the hell was with all the ticky-tack calls against the Florida bigs. The refs were calling the game like Oden was made out of glass (to give Oden a big night)... total BS. But Florida played through it. And before people flame, I like Oden and was happy to see him do well...Oden and Conley should go pro; Oden most definitely.

Heh I think our strategy was to use Noah/Horford/Richard to foul out Oden, but we definitely paid too high a price for that (Richard out, Noah and Horford both with 4 IIRC)

Fouling is all Joakim Noah is good for. IMO OSU outplayed Florida, but Florida simply outshot OSU.

LOL I feel you dude. I got here in 2000. Had to go through WAY too many loses. I even dealt with Grossman's year of domination, only to come short because of the 9/11 reschedules game vs. Tennessee.

Go take a look at the box score. The fundamentals are what won it for Florida.

FG the difference was Ohio shooting 30/64 that's 46.9%
Florida shot 26/53 that's 49.1%
That's not a huge difference.


We shot 88% from the line, OSU shot 64.7% that is a difference.

We had 15 bench points OSU only had 8.

The game pretty much came down to depth and how well they shot at the line. And just letting you know, most teams that outshoot their opponents WILL win the game. Scoring happens to be an important part of basketball 😀

Check 3 pointers, chief. Florida shot 55.6% while OSU shot 17.4% (and 2 of their 23 came within the last minute). Make it 8/18 for FL and 4/23 for OSU (FL still shooting pretty lights out and OSU shooting poorly still) and the game is completely different.

Also, OSU only shot ~4 FT in the first half where FL had ~12. WTF. And talking about the FT %. Joakim Noah went 6/6 for some reason that I don't even know how. Who the hell 2 hand passes the ball to the basket.

Points in the paint ridiculously favored OSU, and I thought FL had the big bad trio that was unstoppable. Whatever.

LOL you just brought up an awesome point... I think Thad needs to coach these boys. No coach just sits around and watches their team out shoot the other from 3-point range when they're ice cold. You have to adjust your game plan at some point.

Just letting you know, our big bad trio was unstoppable, we have a championship.

Plus I'll take their 34 pts, 23 rebs, and 12 assists any day.
