One thing's for sure. There's quite a bit of future NBA stars on the court tonight.

Brewer, Conley, Horford and Oden are the most obvious choices, but there's some other great players out there as well.

Congrats to the Gators. This has definitely been a very special team.

And as the fan of a different SEC school it's encouraging to know that Florida has nowhere to go but down now after winning the last 3 national titles in the 2 big sports. Well at least they likely have nowhere to go but down in basketball.

Tim Tebow once won a game of Connect Four in 3 moves!
You don't hit Tim Tebow, Tim Tebow hits you!
Tim Tebow counted to infinity - twice.
Tim Tebow doesn't get sacked. Tim Tebow sacks defensive linemen.

He's gonna be in the NBA next year....

The kid is talented. I see the next Tim Duncan in the making.

Ohio State should have never been in the championship game anyway. Florida had already beaten them earlier in the year. Why should they get two shots at Florida?

From a senior buckeye, congratulations Florida.

---
Refs were horrible both ways.

This definitely doesn't hurt anywhere near as much as football did...football was heartwrenching. I had the bucks going all the way in my bracket, but figured we'd be out in the 2nd round/Texas A&M, so I'm rather pleased with how things turned out. Granted, it's pretty horrible/season crushing when we don't show up in big games (shooters tonight, entire team in football)

Things didn't *quite* go our way this year, yet in time I'll hopefully be able to look back and appreciate two overall very good seasons.

I'm also glad Oden had a great game...shush the naysayers. If someone would've told me that Oden would have 20/10 before the game, I would have been a lot more confident. Hopefully buckeye nation isn't going to develop an sec complex, although it's probably warranted.

And to the person that says he's outta shape...well he's only 18...wink wink and hasn't really hit the weights yet (there was a radio interview where he ate a large pizza during it : P). That and he gets freakin' mauled.

Either way, congrats and good luck next year Florida...rise of the superpowers?!?

oh and to mpitts...I guess I kinda know what it feels like to be a Michigan fan now : P

It all goes in circles.. Just remember that.. Enjoy the success while you have it because it's always possible that a 2-10-1 stretch might not be that far off.. :D

All I can say is Florida 'handled' OSU...hats off to the gators. I wanted UCLA to win it all this year but no one has the players to match Florida when they come to play.

And what the hell was with all the ticky-tack calls against the Florida bigs. The refs were calling the game like Oden was made out of glass (to give Oden a big night)... total BS. But Florida played through it. And before people flame, I like Oden and was happy to see him do well...Oden and Conley should go pro; Oden most definitely.

Heh, congrats to the Gators as well. Definitely, the best team along with great talents. They played really together and cohesive. Contrast this to OSU who at times did not seem on the same page, especially offensively. A lot of those threes they jacked up made me cringe, especially with Oden having great position down low.

As for Oden, he was really impressive. He backed down the Noah and Hoford with relative ease. Needs to work on the stamina; but he's only used to playing 15 min a game in the tourney :p

Florida, great players, great coach, great team; they deserved to win. I hope to see Billy Donovan on the sidelines next year with........ Shaq and D-Wade on the Miami Heat :)

I'm afraid that, once again, it will come down to how the game is officiated. If they call a tight game, Oden will get in trouble early and Florida's depth in the paint will decide it. If they "let 'em play", Oden will run wild and give OSU an edge. Watch the early plays and see if they call Oden for his moving picks. That'll be the first sign of a closely called game. Of course, it could also go like the Georgetown - OSU game, where they call the first half tightly, and let them loose in the second half. If that's the case, whichever team adjusts fastest to the changing refs will take the game.

Letting Oden play is like letting a thug mug everybody. OSU wouldn't even be in this game if he was called for all of his fouls (by rule an intentional against Xavier).

That guy gets away with murder. Fricking 35 year old THUG. Let's hope the refs not hand OSU the game like they have in previous ones.

You're not too intelligent, eh?

Oden is dominating in the paint.

And Florida is nailing those 3-pointers.

You'd think a world class athlete like Oden would be in shape. It's pathetic how tired he gets. It's not like he's a big tub of lard. I've never seen a player of his caliber be in such pathetic shape.

Dude... he's 7', and he played the whole game minus 2 minutes.

My sentiments on the game -

Gators played hard and won. Sure they got some lucky bounces here and there, but the thing is, they hit big shots all night. As soon as OSU was creeping back into the game, another three extended the lead back to 8 or 9 points.

OSU could NOT hit any big shots. Jamar Butler and Ron Lewis could have easily combined for 12 points off of threes if they shot anywhere as close to how they have during the whole tournament. However, Oden was unstoppable in the post, and all you complaining about ticky tack fouls... I honestly didn't see them. But the big man can't do everything by himself... if OSU would've worked the inside-out game more to a perfection (ie make a damn 3) it would have been much different.

Also, the Florida players have NO modesty, and are douchebags. Early in the game when Brewer got the steal and the dunk, and then did the "flying over the ground" a la Shaq... just pretty lame. Then Horford with his shimmy after his dunk. And Noah constantly overreacting. Act like you've made a damn play in your life before. When Ron Lewis skyed over Brewer for his dunk he didn't showboat.

All in all, if the teams played an NBA series style championship, I'd have OSU winning in 6 games. No way OSU is going to be that cold and Florida is going to be that hot all of the time.

OSU 4-23 3pt 17%
Florida 10-18 3pt 55%

You don't win games when you shoot that poorly from outside the arc. Congrats to the Gators though. Humphrey was money from behind the arc all game long.
