OMG, 73mm horizontal... this thing will be nearly the same size as rival 5" and 5.1" premium phones...

I'm actually going to want to blow money on this.

It looks OK. Not a fan of convex back but it is not as pronounced as some other phones. My next phone will be a phablet, and I am curious how this 5.5" screen will fit the bill. I hope they tone down the skinworks.

Edit: The screen-to-bezel ratio is unbelievable in that Engadget link.

I was wondering why the dimensions were so different compared to the Japanese market phone (145mm tall, 76mm wide, 10.5mm thick), but the last Japanese variant was water resistant as well - so it could be that the new version is also water resistent in Japan and not in the rest of the world.

It'd be amazing if we had the option between a non-waterproof, tiny bezels G3 and a waterproof, larger S5 and a S5 Prime that's somewhere in the middle.

So apparently the Korea phone specs have leaked with what everyone knows - 1440p screen, S801, 3GB RAM, etc. Dimensions are stated as 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9mm. Still the best screen to size ratio I've seen though not the OMG dimensions from the above rumor. No sign of waterproofing however.

Compared to:

HTC One (M8) 5" 146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4mm
Samsung Galaxy S5 5.1" 142 x 72.5 x 8.1mm
LG G2 5.2" 138.5 x 70.9 x 8.9mm
Note 3 5.7" 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3 mm
Sony Xperia Z2 5.2" 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2mm

G3 specs (latest from leaked slides) make it out to be Z2 big. Too big IMO.

Yeah, time will tell if this is a good strategy for them as a 5.5" flagship mainstream phone was surprising, especially in the US. Wider and thicker than the Z2 would seem to rule it out for a lot of people, even with the added screen size.

However, this will probably go pretty well in asia where people love phablets. You can basically get a 'compact' phablet in the G2 or a 'big' phablet in the G Pro 2.

Seems like a great phone all around. A 5.5'' 2560x1440 screen in a similar size to Sony Z2. It would be perfect with an S805, but if still S801 then I guess ther might be a reason, perhaps S805 phones are not coming till Summer.

Someone in GSMarena posted that the Korean model is a bit taller to accommodate the TV antenna.

Seems plausible.

LG G3 specs confirmed by official LG site

Two clicks into the linked article:

151 grams - another worry crossed from my list. Should be all but indistinguishable from the LG G2's 143 grams weight. The low density might even provide for a better feeling in hand. Notice this would be another area where LG beats or matches much of the competition despite the size difference.

The dutch article mentions that LG has confirmed it has a lightweight metal back cover.

Camera has laser autofocus to determine the distance of objects quickly and accurately... This is exactly what the LG G2 needed with its focus lag problem.

It is basically HTC M8 size (4 mm wider) and a little lighter. That just goes to prove how expensive the HTC design decisions in the M8 are.

Thinner, smaller and lighter than the M8 and only 4mm wider.

HTC One (M8):
146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm (5.76 x 2.78 x 0.37 in)
160 g (5.64 oz)
