Did anyone try the Left 4 Dead splitscreen feature yet before it was taken out of the demo? Value has said this if anyone is wondering why they turned it off in the demo now "We turned it off for the demo because we didn't want to have to deal with any additional bug reports etc. about it interfering with the demo experience, but the current plan is to re-enable it after we launch the full product." I am glad to see they will have it though. Hasn't it been a long time sense a pc game has had splitscreen?
 
for guys who love TF2, did you like this game? TF2 is my current favorite game (play it like 20 hours a week), and was considering picking this one up.
 
Damn ... its November 11 and STILL no demo !! I'll check back later .. doesn't help me much to try and get it early when I am off at work.

I pre-ordered so I've been playing for a few days now. For me, it's going to be one of those game that's only fun with friends, or those rare miraculous occasions where you get a fantastic group that all have mics.

Yea we'll have to see and well it's an extremely short Demo so the extra content better be good. I really like it and it runs fine on my 7800GS.
 
What this game needs badly along with its random zombie spawns is a random map generator

When you play now you always know where to go and where the healthpacks are where its possible that guns and ammo spawn where to go when there is a witch in the way.

Umm for me it's different almost every time where ammo and health and witch is at. Sometimes there has been no ammo at all on the tables.

Same, its different each time, although i get what he means there are only tables in certain locations.

Its tough to get through just two bits of the campaign on expert (unless you melee all the time and you team is really really good etc) so i think 4 x 5 bit campaigns will keep people occupied for quite a long time, thats not even factoring in the versus mode where other people control the boss zombies.

You are right. If this game had some kind of random map generator, it would be different every time.

Now it's just the same shit happening every time, but sometimes more or less frequently and at different parts of the level...

To me, there is no replay value.

It would be fun to play through once though.
 
When I heard that the game was going to different every time I thought it meant EVERY TIME... The times on the first mob spawn are not different.. It's about 30 seconds into the first level is when the mob spawns. Nothing is different about that... "Oh a zombie spawned here and not there... Woooohooo.. so different" I was thinking it was going to be REALLY changed up but it is not at all. It really is the same damn game every time you play through. Very disappointing with that, the AI director is crap. It doesn't leave you in moments going, "Oh god... am I going to see zombies come out of everywhere??" No, it gives you a freaking signal. It plays a damn trumpet or something and you know to get into a corner and just slay the zombies. It's like... so easy.

just played a round in the subway where a witch spawned in a subway car at a point where that was the only way forward...

Expert is the only one that keeps me on my toes. I wonder how much better this game will be when it's released and others can be the "boss" zombies to make it more difficult. I'm sure everyone is going to want to be the tank. They should have put that option in the Demo. I'm sure it would be more fun. Plus new maps and user created maps will make it less boring.

By the way expert is the ONLY way to play. Very difficult but ooh so much fun and the rewards really are classy.
