OFFICIAL Lancer EVO VIII info from mitsubishi

pricing is still a bit vague...under $30,000. That might mean $29.999 for all we know. How much will the WRX STi go for?

my good friend has a deposit down on one of the first three evos our local dealer will get. he's pretty pumped needless to say.

i believe you can watch the live webcast from the autoshow tomorrow @ noon

STI is gonna go for slightly over $30k AFAIK.

Well, the car weighs around 3200 pounds(with it's 4WD/AWD), has a ton of other goodies, great breaks. If the quality control issues are under control, this car is going to be probably the best value for the price. I'd take it over a z car/G35 any day.

edmunds did a comparison between the evo and wrx (since sti is not out yet)

The overall result was that wrx is better( or sti for that matter). They said evo's seat is uncomfortable for long rides, and its gas tank is too small. The car they said felt very rough compared to wrx.

The Evo is tuned for the track. Suspension is stiffer than the WRX. That's why it felt "rough". I think they said that the US spec Evo will most likely have a bigger gas tank, softer suspension and lack of active yaw control.

yes i know why its rough, i mean its made for ralleys. How many of the buyers gonna drive for the tracks? probably less than 3%

I am thinking of slowly making my focus sedan into a rally capable machine.. lowered stiffer springs and more power.. and other stuff..
but if I had the money I would buy the EVO VII rather than convert my focus into a slient sleeper.
