IMO, the first goal was a result of a horrible pass. Hong holds little responsibility for it.

The Turkish goallie was excellent. Both Korean goals have been very difficult ones to block for perhaps even Oliver Kahn. I heard some commentators rate Rustu as the second best GK after Kahn.

The other two Turkish goals were combinations of excellent Turkish offense and blunders from the Korean defenders.

Korea managed to regroup and play a better game from mid-second half but it was too late.

Notice how nobody is bitching about the calls after this one

And how when the Korean team loses we shake hands and exchange jerseys? And this time even join hands and greet the crowd?

That is all I have to say.

it is not so much of Korea's defense at fault, those turkish striker just ROCKS man. they ran so fast and handle the ball so well, the K defender just have trouble keep pace with them.

the bigger blame should be on Korea offense (cough, Anh, cough).... the team is not used to fast pace hold-and-shoot, their tactics was conservative: hold the ball for a while and wait till enough teamates (and consequently, the opponent) to come up then shoot the ball, whereas the Turkish offense just shot the ball in a split second.

and good sportmanship too, I didn't witness both team celebrating together afterwards though as you guys have mentioned, but that was nice.

and oh man, K-town was QUIET last night, wth? the fans just gave up coz their team are merely playing for 3rd place?

To give you an example of HORRIBLE Korean defense last night, 2 Turkish strikers faced 4 Korean defenders. All 4 defenders surrounded Sukur and completely ignored the other guy (forgot his name) who marched forward with the ball passed to him and scored. The Korean defenders just stood there watching. The other guys were just standing there watching without any attempt to provide any sort of backup.

Korean defense absolutely sucked last night. Offense wasn't superb either but a couple of "ICBM shots" weren't as bad since there were some impressive plays, like Lee's beautiful freekick goal.

Like I said earlier, they played better later from around mid-second half but it was too late. And I give the Turkish GK a lot of credit since he blocked so many close shots.

caught the highlights of the postgame........mucho props to Turkey for the great sportsmanship 😀

it was awesome seeing them waving Korean flags towards the crowds.....great moment 🙂
