Anyone tried out the exercise game? I wonder how good it really is for a workout program.

I'm curious about these as well. My wife wants a Kinect for Christmas for the excercise stuff. Supposedly there's a Yoga and Tai Chi "game" coming out, but I can't find any details on when it's going to be released. I'd rather spend money on this than buy another $600 Pilates machine for her 🙂.

I have yourshape.... did 1 exercise last night (and I will admit I am not in very good shape) but my legs are hurting this morning of course I played quite a bit of kinect adventures last night too.

yourshape does have quite a bit of variety (more than I was expecting)

Besides the hand free menu control stuff, this has no appeal to me...i do not want to look like a pathetic fool lol. I rather stick with the usual controller fun...

I tried out the demo that is included with Kinect Adventures last night. Felt like more of a workout than the Wii Fit ever gave and you don't have to mess with any extra peripherals or controllers.

Playing Kinect Sports & Adventures, I was actually moving around A LOT and breaking a sweat (mind you, my friend's apartment was already a bit warm to boot, heh.) I have to admit, it had mild tracking issues due to very poor lighting, but even so, the only real issues we saw were in bowling, where we sometimes couldn't release the ball...took some people a few tries. Even so though, it was a ton of fun with friends. Friends who, were we playing Halo MP or something, I'd be destroying since I'm the only "core" gamer in that gang...and so I'd be bored, and they'd not be enjoying it.

Kinect gets a plus from me - it needs work no doubt, and more titles, but it's a good start and I'm glad I pre-ordered one.

This is where I'm at. The AT forums always seemed to be plagued by a bunch of immature kids. Be it people ranting about consoles being inferior to PCs, nVidia vs ATI or Intel vs AMD. There's so much crappy fanboyism here that posting any thread to discuss something very quickly descends into a fanboy fight...which is pointless.

You know, I don't like the PS3. I'm sure that's apparant. But I don't go into PS3 threads and say LOLPS3SUCKSURALLGAY! Which is all that this kid does. I contribute to threads. He trolls them.

And the forums that I am mod on, past and present, I don't allow trolling. If you have nothing to contribute (I tried kinect out, was interesting but sucked, for example) fine - but if all you're going to do is repeat the "lolps3pwnsyouxbox360sucksuranidiotforhavingone"...well, I think I go something along the lines of a warnings, then a temp ban or two, then a permaban that is never revoked; and if you create a new account, it's permabanned as well.

It's not that I disagree with him - people are free to have their opinions - it's that he a.) tries to shove it down everyone's throat and b.) has nothing useful to add to any threads ongoing.

I tried the Kinect on 3 different occasions and i did not like it.
Again, as i mentioned above, i spent over $150 trying to fix my 360 from RROD until i had to buy a new one($250)
Sometimes my "trolling" can go overboard at times...but, in this thread, i'm giving my true and honest opinion.

But In the 2-3 days I've been back at AT, I've seen countless posts from you bickering with people about how mucht he XBox sucks and the PS3 is an amazing piece of hardware.

Played it @ best buy once...went to my friend's house yesterday...played it there, went to my friend's house again today...played it again...

As i said before, i'm impressed with the control features, but not with the games.

People who "don't like" or "troll" one console or another are kind of out there anyway. I have 2 360s, 2 PS3s, a Wii, a pretty good gaming PC and countless other previous gen consoles that I use fairly regularly. All have their strengths, all come up short in some areas. Just like cars, TVs, smartphones, politicians, doctors, women, men, bubblegum, etc.

Get over yourselves, these companies don't give a crap about you on an individual level, if you got hit by a car tomorrow, the only thing you mean to them is one less Halo Reach or Uncharted 2 sale.

More importantly, please stop initiating or encouraging every thread into becoming a "my console vs. your console" free-for-all.

And goddammit, I keep coming in this thread, even tho I can't even play with the Kinect I bought until I give it to my kids for X Mas in over a month!

It seems like the Your Shape game is the killer app for Kinect. I'm tempted to buy a Kinect bundle for just that game. I just wish my original 360 wasn't so damn loud so I could just get the camera and game.

You spent $400 trying to get an Xbox fixed? LOL. Someone needs to pay attention to their warranties, or perhaps just look up soldering vids and RRoD fix-it-yourself vids. At $400, you have nobody to blame but yourself.

What can i say, 3 years of trouble-less gaming feels good after going through hell with my 2 360s.

I'll take my 4+ years of better games, with only one minor issue ever with my 360s any day over what I've seen from the PS3. PS3 was always a huge dissapointment for me. Plus, I hate the PS controllers. Putting the left thumb stick on the inside of the controllers instead of on the outside like the Xbox controllers to me is huge fail.

Back on topic here....this thread should be about Kinect, not another "360 vs.PS3" argument.

Just picked this up...grabbed the Kinect sensor bar (with the Adventures game)plus "your shape" because my fiance wanted that to try. The setup was a breeze (she had never even touched the 360 before) and we both had a great time. The adventure games were really fun, but I liked the Your Shape the best. The workouts are pretty intense, but the games (especially the balancing one) were a blast.

I was most impressed with the sensor tracking on Your Shape. The game could tell when you didn't lunge low enough,or if your knee was not high enough. It was pretty amazing.

We both had a blast with the Kinect Adventures when the game takes your picture and then adds captions to them after each mini-game. The coding for the captions is really clever, and I could see this as a great game to play when people are over.

Very impressed.

One more thing; I like the fact that you don't need to purchase anything else for the Kinect. Both my fiance and I played together, and it just worked. I like my Wii, but I never could stomach buying 4 wii-motes + nunchucks. I just got two sets and we always friends bring over a couple if we wanted more. The "accessory tax" can add-up quickly.

...it was before MS recognized before the RROD issues...i spent $150 dollars to fix it..$250 to get a new one...

DanceMasters is from Konami

Dance Central is a LOT of fun, and has great tracking. My wife and I both enjoyed playing it last night. I'm not sure about DanceMasters though.

Launch day Xbox 360, 5+yr old, still running strong. Put a lot of hours on it, left it on for several hours in a row, used to play it all the time up to a couple months ago, when I gave it to my dad.
