It's in the UN declaration of human rights. If the US has ratified that, then it is legally recognized in your country. Of course, you could interpret that this passage just means that it must be provided, not that you can't take away someone's house after you provide it.

That is great but I am sure we have not ratified that since we dont like the UN interferring with our deomestic issues.

Give it at least 48 hours to get a good, honest poll.

Leave it to liberal CNN to have a poll like that, doesn't surprise me at all. I'm waiting for the poll that all of the media agrees on, the one that generally comes around 48-72 hours after the debate.

If I was attacked like that I'd most certainly be calling that guy out on it and seeking to soothe ruffled feathers.

Right................ How do you soothe ruffled feathers when somebody calls you Hitler? That is almost as bad as calling him the devil.

Bush is fine with African Americans who want to think for themselves. All they need to do is look at his cabinet. If they believe everything the NAACP spoon feeds them, then there probably isnt much you can honestly do.

Not even close, and this brand of thoughtless rhetoric ("uhhh, didn't X say Y" as an argument against the merits of X) is a lot of the reason this country is so divided IMO.

Very simple:

Hold a meeting. Get the issues on the table.

Are you afraid of confrontration? The President most certainly is. That's why he has a Cabinet full of yes-men, key advisors nodding yes in agreement constantly, scripted Cabinet meetings, loyalty oaths on the campaign trail.

That was covered in the town hall debate when Bush (LMAO!) called himself a (LOL!!) steward of the land.

I'll say it again, genius, in boldface so you can understand: NOBODY AFFILIATED WITH THE NAACP EVER CALLED PRESIDENT BUSH HITLER!

I think there is only so much time in the day. If you go chasing something that doesnt want to be chased it is just a waste of time.

Perhaps if Bush spent less time at Crawford or Camp David and actually addressing issues, he'd accomplish something.

Yep. You can't be a real leader if you're afraid to meet with people who disagree with you. All you can be is a shepherd, herding your flock of unquestioning followers.

Hey genius when I ask a question it is meant to be answered. Dont be an ass about it.

But Bond did compared the republicans to the Taliban and said the republicans idea of equal rights is to have the American Flag and Confederate Swastika flag flyhing side by side.

That is a pretty damn strong accusation he is making,

genius.

That is all you can come up with?

You're the one complaining Bush didn't have enough time. It's a valid issue to address Bush's vacationing.

well, he has spent more time away from the WH in his first four years than Clinton did over his entire 8yrs in office. Course, some people would say Clinton had a reason. Maybe Bush should find a similar hobby to keep him in the oral office.

That's not even close to calling the President Hitler, as I'm sure you know. Since you're now implying you just asked an innocent question, I'll remind you of what you said:

Right................ How do you soothe ruffled feathers when somebody calls you Hitler? That is almost as bad as calling him the devil.

You can't just make things up, then assume they're true, and go forth and bravely argue them without someone calling you out.

Yeah...I guess you're right. It's amazing how coherent he was considering the medication he was under and the drool spilling from the corner of his mouth.

Hey here is my initial question

Didnt the leader of the NAACP call Bush Hitler?

I figured if Conjur couldnt google it by the time he replied it was a good chance it was true. However thanks to you I now know the real story. Next time try not being such a dink about it.

As for the swastika reference. I think it is pretty good evidence they mean Nazism and when they talk about republicans it goes to the top.

Even if he did call Bush, Hitler, Bush should address the issue and get things straight, engage in dialogue.

 Yeah, how could he have missed that in the two minutes between your post and his?

I don't mean to lecture you, but this kind of debate is incredibly harmful IMO - if one person just makes up facts, it's misleading to everyone involved.

As for your latter argument, it's completely logically slipshod. Here's an illustration:

Statistics say that Americans, as a whole, overwhelmingly support a woman's right to choose. By your logic, when I accurately state that Americans generally support abortion, I am also saying that President Bush supports abortion, because "when I say Americans support abortion, it goes to the top."
