Anyone having trouble getting Internet Options to launch from within IE 7 with this build? It works when I use the shortcut in the control panel, but closes instantly when I try to open them from within internet explorer's tools menu.

I like it. It's sleek and loads up quickly. I also like the RSS feed integration.

However, I get high CPU usage when browsing sites with lots of flash and images, which doesn't happen in Firefox. Scrolling feels clunky in most sites. Memory usage seems higher than Firefox as well, at least in my experience. 108MB with 5 tabs open; 5 same tabs require 65MBs in FF.

The only thing I think beta 3 lacks is that the one time it crashed, when I reopened it it didn't remember all my pages I had open. Does RC1 add some sort of recovery feature to ask if you want to reopen all your pages/tabs?

i can't find the setting that will make it go to the last "focused" tab when i close a different tab.

for instance, if a link opens a new tab, when i close it, it doesn't return to the last focused tab. it instead returns to the last tab in line

This is basically my only gripe about IE7. If there's a way to do, someone let us know.

yeah, that pretty much ruins it for me.

although i also noticedmy left/right scroll on my scroll wheel is painfully slow in ie7 as d to FF. i updated the logitech drivers but it didn't help.

other than those two issues, i like it.

This is the only issue I've noticed. Otherwise, I really like it.

I played around for quite awhile trying to find an option for this to no avail. Maybe MS can fix it in an update.

wtf, I installed it and I don't get tabs. A whole toolbar is missing. The only "Bar" i see is the address bar and the search bar next to it. I can't uninstall it now. It says this whenever I try to uninstall/reinstall it: "Set up could not verify the integrity of the file Update.inf. Make sure the Cryptographic service is running on this computer."

Am I stuck now? goddamn fvcking shiet?

Of course this didn't work for me when I installed it.. just like IE7Beta did, TWICE.. :roll:

Microsoft newsgroups are flooded with people getting permission errors like me, I was hoping they would have solved this problem, but serves me right for hoping M$ would listen to the customer.

For me this is a bug. I like to use custom icons for web sites. IE6 leaves them alone, but IE7 changes them to the site's own website if the have one. I find this to be a PITA, and wish that a user's customizations would override the general rule.

Other than that, I love IE7 - been on it now for 2 weeks and it is better than Firefox for me.

Does the text seem fuzzy in IE for any of you compared to Firefox? I love the browser, but IE hurts my eyes for some reason.

You might try installing it while in Safe Mode with networking. That's what I had to do to get it to install successfully.

I solved my problem.. For those of you having problems with slow scrolling as well, go to advanced IE options and uncheck "Always Use Cleartype for HTML".

This removed the fuzzy picture and also made scrolling a lot smoother.

Does anyone know how to get a proxy server (specifically the Proxomitron) running in IE7? Apparently MS changed the way they are implemented in IE7.

Anyone have issues with RC1 and Yahoo webmail or Ebay? On Yahoo webmail, many of the buttons don't function for me, like when I select "move", no pull down, or "delete", etc. "Compose" works but then the buttons "Send", "Save as draft", don't. On Ebay, I noticed there is no box for me to type, next to a "search" button on the upper right. There has to be a setting I have set wrong because I can't be the only one having trouble with those both sites.

Update: a reset of my security zones settings fixed the above issues.
