Microsoft newsgroups are flooded with people getting permission errors like me, I was hoping they would have solved this problem, but serves me right for hoping M$ would listen to the customer.


You might try installing it while in Safe Mode with networking. That's what I had to do to get it to install successfully.

IE7 changed the whole look of my computer. I thought it looked like the Classic mode but when I went to the Toolbar, it said that I was in the XP Modified mode, the way I had it before. I checked Classic, then back to Modified, and everything came back.
