Anyone able to get Qik to work? Can't even login for me.

Fring works pretty well though. But only through Skype login.

edit: nm it's working now.

edit2: does anyone know how to video chat with Qik?

Bambuser is pretty awesome, it live broadcasts what you're doing on the web.

Qik also live broadcasts while it uploads at the same time. But I don't see a video chat feature.

Grrr, still eagerly awaiting mine to arrive via mail. Sprint shipped overnight via USPS, which their website says ships overnight so hopefully that holds true.

My wife and my mom both pre-ordered from Best Buy and have been taunting me with them for the last two days. Seems like a pretty sweet phone. The battery life seems suspect already though, and we haven't tried 4G at all. I, unfortunately, will be going out of the country soon so won't be able to pick up one for myself until I get back. Boooo.

were any EPRP'ers able to successfully activate their phone with BestBuy?

I was unable to and had to change to a normal plan... fortunately, I also quality for an employee discount with sprint, so I'm just waiting for that to be applied back to my account and it should even out with EPRP.

I have EPRP and did it at Radio Shack. Took an hour after voice started to work that data finally worked.

Local incoming calls are showing up with the area code attached. This isn't really a problem but it isn't matching against my contact number for said person. I edited the contact and added the area code and how it shows the contacts name in the call history. Any idea how to have it match with our without the area code in the contacts?

why would you ever not put the area code in the contact?

Questions:

1. Can I use the EVO to connect my home computer to the internet (is this called "tethering")?
2. Does this have a limit on how much can be downloaded or uploaded?
3. Can I make phone calls while surfing the net if tethered?

I think sprint charges for this (seems yucky to me; I would actually like wireless g3 for my netbook if I could find a plan along the lines of the ipad (only use it when I travel hence a limited plan would work for me)

2. Does this have a limit on how much can be downloaded or uploaded?
Currently sprint is unlimited; at&t just change their policy

3. Can I make phone calls while surfing the net if tethered?
don't know but i suspect so.

I want to get one of these, but I'm not eligible for an upgrade. I might drop the $479 from wirefly. Any better deals out there?

When I try to access the Mail application I receive the error message "The application Mail (process com.htc.android.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I currently only have one mail account setup which is my work e-mail using the IMAP protocol.

I have tried completely powering down the phone but that did not help. Is there a way I can nuke the mail account and recreate it? I found a setting that will set the phone back to factory defaults but that seems like total overkill. This was working fine Friday and Saturday. Anyone else run into this problem?

1. YES. but if you want to do it for free, get an app like "pdanet".
2. YES.
3. You can talk and connect to the net at the same time if you are using 4G or wifi while connecting to the net. If you are conneted to 3G network...NO.

I still have one on pre-order for best buy (for the second batch) but after seeing one in action... it seems like it's slower than the HTC Droid Incredible, which is funny because of the exact same specs, except for the AMOLED, and the bigger screen. Resolution are the same!

Though it may not be a fair comparison, I guess I was expecting something iPhone speed, but seeing it more like palm pre w/ 800Mhz patch...

I saw that the phone sometimes have problems picking up basic gestures, and the scroll speed seems to be a bit slower. I guess I'm a little disappointed, but then I let the hype get to me! At first I was feeling like "I can't wait to get it!" now it's more like "i'll get it when I get it..."

1. Or you pay extra on your plan or tethering
2. Only for 3G as 4G has no limit

Actually, I don't believe that is true. The "4G Surcharge" not only lifts the cap on 4G data, but 3G as well. (at least that's what was reported leading up to the phone's release.)

I've had this phone since Friday and LOVE IT. Blazing fast. Easily as quick or quicker than my co-workers iPhone 3GS at flipping screens, launching apps, etc. Blows it away in download speeds and rendering webpages. Makes my old Blackberry Curve2 look like a turtle.

And even though it isn't officially available in this area (DC Metro), I have occasionally gotten a 4G signal and that is about as fast as a wifi connection.

ugh. I feel like I'm getting fucked over.

bestbuy forced me to switch from my EPRP plan to the regular, $70/month version, and now Sprint isn't letting me use the employee discount option because "your current plan provides you with the best value available, making your account ineligible for the additional employee discounts you requested"

edit: scratch that. I guess BB lied to me when they said that they needed to change my Sprint plan... according to the sprint website, I'm still on the $60/month Everything Plus 500.

The 'everything' plans from Sprint already include unlimited data.

How is ya'lls battery life? I picked mine up yesterday and am curious as to how the battery holds up with daily use.
