What the fuck.

Just saw it tonight.

My wife and I both were seriously saying "it's about fucking time!" when they hooked up and then they ended up making it all fake, damn.

And my DVR cut off right when House was in the car driving up to the house/rehab whatever place, did anything else happen after that? Damn Hulu is slacking with this one.

not really. they pull up to the psycho hospital place. they greet him inside and then he looks back at wilson, and it ends

You forgot the wedding.

what did I miss? I didn't catch anything after house in withdraw making out with whatshername.

The short version:

House nails Cuddy, then tries mind games with her to see if she has feelings for him. It kinda backfires and then he realizes he hallucinated the whole thing. He was on vicodin the entire time. When he went to her office and asked her for help he didn't actually stop her from leaving and ask her to help him, he just let her go. Everything with her after that was a hallucination - probably cutthroat-bitch in his mind appearing as Cuddy or something.

He ends up figuring this out at the end and gets Wilson to drive him to a loony bin.

The excessive shaky cam was a major indicator that this was in House's head. It normally doesn't bug me much, but really stood out in this episode.

I hope they don't apply a reset button at the beginning of next season...

I definitely did notice lots of shaky cam (that shit pisses me off TBQH) but I don't know how you could make the connection about it being a hallucination from that.

I saw the episode alone and watched it again with my roommate; he insisted I refrain from spoiling it.

When House kept twirling the lipstick around he told me something was up, ie. Foreman/13/Taub are always up his ass about everything, why aren't they up his ass about random lipstick. Also, I think the only "real" part of the episode was his discussion with Cameron and his chats with Wilson. I think some of the talking to Cuddy scenes were hallucinations as well...

The shaky cam, House getting off vicodin overnight and showing no ill effects from it, and his hooking up with Cuddy all pointed in that direction. One of those things wouldn't have triggered any red flags, but all three? Something HAD to be up.

You have divigentianammoniaitusamongitius.

I really did not pay attention to the series until this year, but I find it catchy. I knew the season finale was about 3/4 over and there was no sign of a climax in sight. Then I knew something was fishey...

Hated this ending. They gave the viewers what they wanted, and then took it away. And yet I'm still addicted. FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU

I loved this ending. It definitely will keep me wanting to watch S6.

The rest of your post though I agree with 100%. They had House/Cuddy finally hook up and have sex. Then, they ripped it all away from me. The bastards. They did it well though, and definitely have me hooked for next season.

This ending was pretty good. About time they had some character development in the series. House's drug addiction has been a major element since season 1, no way could he realistically just magically get better.
The heroes season finale wasn't a bad shake up either, but it was kind of forced and contrived. This actually worked.

I loved the ending and cinematography of the last scene where they show the wedding and house going to the asylum.

After watching the episode a few times I believe the entire episode was reality with the exception of the lipstick on his face and the lipstick (and him seeing Kutner/CTB at the end).

No way he could have detoxed that fast and it is unlikely Cuddy would sleep with House right after the detox. Thus the hallucination makes sense.

This entire season finale arc I think started with episode 19: "Locked In". Here we learn House starts going to see a psychiatrist in New York. He also gets in a Motorcycle accident which may have contributed to the hallucinations (a couple of episodes later he starts seeing CTB [Amber]):

I can't wait for Season 6.

I just have the bad feeling that next season will open with House cured. Every season of has been this way so far. I was really pissed at the finale where he was shot(and also hallucinating mind you) then the next season opens with him jogging to work. WTF!!!

The Finale was the greatest House episode ever. Even better than the lesbo scenes with 13.

I'm pretty sure the bottle of pills that he had said "Oxycodone" on it 😛.

Nah, if you look closely you'll see the bottle says "...ocodone" which means it's Hydrocodone aka Vicodin.

Hah yea we find out they "fixed" him during his surgery.

I liked how it opened to the "Feel Good Inc." song though with him running 5 miles to work.

Not better than Cuddy's strip scene. But still a very good episode...people say the show has gone soft...it's been better than ever with Kutner killing himself and now this. We all know House's addiction would eventually lead to something along these lines. Since the pilot, this has been building up and up.

I was never a House fan until around Christmas, and now I'm hooked.

Hulu only has Episode 23 up from 5/04, but I really hope Amber gets cut. She is so amazingly annoying and ugly and repulsive and yea.

I know, I HATE her, and not in the "good" "TV hate" way, more of a "when she was a prominent character, I wanted to stop watching the show" kind of way. I was actually happy when they killed her off....now she's back as a hallucination? Come on!!!

um, no.

House hallucinated his detox and sex with Cuddy.

The rest was real.

You are correct. Cuddy's strip scene is the best. How could I have forgotten about that.

Really? I'll have to look at it again then, 'cause I thought I saw oxycodone, which I guess both would work. Doesn't make much sense to me though that after all the years of popping the things like pez that it would finally affect him like that. I thought it'd work better if he finally went up to something "harder."

To be honest, I've been a bit tired of the whole Vicodin thing ever since they finished the spat with Detective Tritter.

The Finale was amazing, It will be hard for them to top it with the series finally (whenever that comes). I honestly wouldn't be too shocked to find that most the house/cuddy interactions where not real during the episode (Lipstick wasn't on the cup, so did house actually take her cup or just test his own?)

Heck, house has had a history of hallucinations, it wouldn't be surprising to find that he is really psychotic. Remember when he hallucinated an itchy spot on his hand the first time he was about to hook up with cuddy? The undo stress might have finally pushed him over the edge.
