Atleast I don't think Ubisoft/Nival has a banktrupcy filing that forces them to release the game pre-mature like 3DO had

Even though it's a completely new development team instead of the HOMM 1 - 3 developers, at least it's someone new not the HOMM IV team. The development team is Nival (Blitzkrieg, Silent Storm, Etherlords).

I'm enjoying Silent Storm so far, though the mercs in Jagged Alliance 2 had more personality, and the inventory management / weapons progression was better in JA2.

Gameplay is all that matters, graphics is fun to start with but doesn't matter in the long run. Same with sound, specially because I always turn it off to listen to mp3's.

I only have the first game HoMM 3, none of the expansions.

oh, the expansions had some cool features like set items and a new town. But WoG has lots of tweaks you so can balance the game and vastly improve the bad skills. They also put in a commander unit that is a very strong unit fighting on the battlefield. Also new units and lvl 8 creatures has been added. And ofcourse creature stack experience. Tons of other mods as well.

I've never heard of Wake of God, only Armegeddon's Blade and Shadow of Death. I guess I haven't been following the industry as well as I should. Was WoG released as a free expansion or do you have pay for it, I don't ever recall seeing it on store shelves.

It requires that you have both expansions to work though.

A bit confusing site, but when you install the WoG you get a very nice htm overview of the extra features. If you would like to I can mail it. Unfortunetaly I can't host it on my homepage as my internet provider has cut my off at home.

I can't wait. I was a huge fan of Kings Bounty/HOMM1/2/3, and while I enjoyed a lot of new ideas and features of HOMM4, the game just didn't play right, so it wound up not being very fun at all. I have a lot of hope for this game.
