And as far as some CC closing out the HD players and some not, this don't surprise me. If the store is not selling any HD players, they close them out just to move them, but if the store is selling the HD players, why would they mark them down? Their idea of a closeout is a little misleading here. More like an overstock markdown. If the store sells out of them, they will no doubt reorder them. Unless they are expecting a new model soon.

yes they do come, just very slow. There is an entire thread over at AVSforum dedicated to how long the rebates take. People who have submitted in summer are still waiting while it seems the early November movies are arriving now.
 
That HDDVDBoxSets website seems too good to be true. So many solid movies under 12 bucks? I guess most of the prices are the lowest that can be found in the marketplace and I just don't know if I trust all the random sellers. Bummer.

I received my (5) HD-DVD MIR & (5) BR MIR movies this week...Originally mailed my paperwork around 11/15...

Tried CC yesterday and they had A3's for $100.04. Went to BB a block away as I had a gift card I wanted to use. They had them with no price tag showing, so I asked....$189. I told them the new list price was only $149 and that CC a block away had them for $100. They said, "we are not going to match that price"! Well your sign says you do. Good luck in the future, you arrogant asses. I will pay more to buy from someone else.

Best Buy has a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal on HD-DVD's next week. Also, always ask to speak to the manager. It's store policy to price match if the competitor is honoring the price and they have them in stock. That person could get fired. Hell anyone in that chain could get fired for trying to break Standard Operating Policy.

I would agree that there really aren't any "must haves" but I'm getting tempted by some of the "must have for 15 bucks." 🙂

I had HD DVD fever for a while but I've already picked up everything that I would watch more than once. Now I have to make time to watch these movies!

The MGR is the one who told me "we are not meeting that price". Yes, bought it from CC.
 
Barnes and Noble has a 50% off sale too: link. And if you're a member with them, then some titles are $13.49.

Plus I think there's a 25% off coupon going around too.
 
Everyone - how do I send off for my free HD-DVD's by mail? I bought the HD-A3 from Amazon and didn't see anything in the package about this. Thanks
