Me loves my 9600 Pro. I made the right decision in buying that and waiting for the next generation :p

I bet Radeon 9600 PRO owners are feeling very good right about now. But I think I'll wait for RV360...not that I have much time to wait.

Yes, nVidia might be able to save some face with new drivers, but ATi can play that game too. A member of the CATALYST CREW who posts at Rage3D promises great things with the CAT 3.8 drivers.

Valve was quite insistent that we only used publicly available drivers on publicly available hardware, which is a reason you won't see Half-Life 2 benchmarks in our upcoming Athlon 64 review.

Too bad it took em so long to post this as Gamers Depot and such had it up a while ago. However I think anandtech does the best job going over this and quality obviously takes time. Great job guys

Sure I did... and boy I was SHOCKED! I wasn't expecting to purchase the game... I have never tried HL but I did want to try the game out someday.... and I just made a rather nail-biting purchase of a video card a couple of months ago.

The thing I can say is - looks like it paid off. I bought a Radeon 9600 Pro... :D I nearly went for the 9500 Pro however they were OOS and I needed a card badly.

Actually, we're the first to have non-Valve numbers. But yes, your latter statement is right anyway. ;)

I'm actually happy I got my Ti4600 in May. It outperformed the FX5900 Ultra in one test, and wasn't really too far behind in the others.
