Official GT200b watch thread

It should be out in the next month or so.

Love live the single GPU!

While I agree with it being a release to anticipate, do you have any facts/substance as to when the launch will be?

Nothing besides what I've already said.

I didn't see any threads for it so I made one.

I'm pretty sure they are suppose to have higher core, shader and memory clocks as well.

Yes seems to me there have been hints of it being more than just a shrink. Lets hope it is on time.

So why the thread then? 😕

Well we could always give you 46 pages of fudzie and vrzone mixed with negative fud about either and both companies.

Last I heard about GT200b was that somewhere in July the chip was going back for another spin. That should put it in the September/October time frame for release.... with a possible preview at nVision. But hey, things change a lot... who knows what they've decided about it in the meantime.

At B3D

Isn't respin an ATI special? Strange times...

rv 670 and rv 770 both had a very smooth launch imho, possibly because they were "midrange" launches that didn't push the envelope quite so much. nvidia on the flip side had all these problems with gt200 and, honestly, I see no end in sight for them. they have money and the r&d budget on their side, but they can't seem to catch up with amd at the fab. amd's has learned from intel first-hand just how valuable a process advantage can be, maybe they're not quite as dumb as we've been giving them credit for...

edit: sorry, not trying to thread-crap, but this thread is already very short on facts and extremely long on opinion.

I wonder how much price gouging there will be at launch week...

Also if they are going to jack the performance up, I'd be really interested in overclocking potential given so many GTX280s at launch failing at stock temps (whereas the 8800GT was a brilliant launch).

Link Yet another spin from fudzilla.

Nvidia simply wants to win the performance crown back from R700. Adding GDDR5 memory and 55nm process will certainly speed things up and they will take the dissipation down.

Nice gain! A single gpu that can best the 4870x2 would certainly get Ati's attention.

I cannot see how that would be physically possible though- maybe in a next gen card but not in a refresh 😕 I think Fud is just an idiot . I can see the GDDR5 addition coming though, that would be awesome.
