I got my preorder yesterday, played for roughly an hour or so before realizing I had to sleep and go to work the next day!

So far, been doing the regular missions, this game is truely awesome.
The weather turned to a foggy mist throughoutt he streets and it portrayed very well.

I had only 1 run in with the cops, but I ditched em pretty fast. I managed to rear end the cop and it started a small pursuit. This is gonna be sweet!

re: hand to hand combat..

How do you push people? I'm starting to get the hang of the timing for the basic combos (punch, alternate punch, punch.. stuff like that) but the AI is always pushing me around, throwing me off balance. How can I push back? Can you at least dodge those attacks? (haven't had much luck yet with that, though I've tried)

These controls are for the 360..

Left trigger will target your opponent, keep this held down during the fight.. B is a hard punch, Y is an alternate lesser punch, X kicks. If someone is hitting you, press A to dodge, then press B or Y to do a counter. I think you push them with B or Y when you are really close, otherwise you punch.

Someone correct me if I recalled this incorrectly.

omg dude.. when I went drinking with Roman afterwards I tried driving drunk. I was sitting kind of close to the TV and that almost gave me a headache it was so crazy.. probably THE only time I've ever felt close to an upset stomach while playing a game.

I drove after drinking with Roman - that was fun. Then I went drinking with Michelle, and I got so drunk that I fell down 3 times before I made it out of the bar. Driving after THAT was awesome. Driving drunk is one of the coolest things I've ever done in a video game (and if Jack Thompson is reading this, it makes me want to do it in real life too!).

Nope, that's right. B is a push pretty much all times except during a fight or if you get really close to your opponent.

I took the day off work to play this; I'm about 30% done with the game now (apparently). I don't want to give too much away, but be warned there may be spoilers. That said, here are some of my favorite moments:

I was hauling ass across the Manhattan (Algonquin) Bridge in my Porsche (Comet), when a taxi swerved into my lane. I jerked the wheel to avoid the collision, caught the guard rail which sent me airborne. My car did a double barrel roll perfectly over a cop car, landed back on the wheels in the left lane beside the cop, and I continued driving. I don't think the car went under 100mph the whole time. Cop didn't give a shit at all.

My friend was playing a mission where he was running around gunning lots of guys down in a warehouse. He went in with basically no health because he didn't realize what the mission would entail. He miraculously made it through alive, and escaped with the package. As he was running across the street to get a car, a van clipped him and he died.

The talk radio stations can be fatal. I stole a car that had one of the talk radio stations going, and I wasn't really paying attention. As I'm dutifully driving to pick up my girlfriend, I hear "I was disappointed when I had my baby girl. First, because she was so ugly. And second, because she looked like her mother." I laughed so hard I missed my turn, and when I tried to steer around to fix it I hit a pole which resulted in me being ejected from the car and thrown down a cliff (into that lower area where Brucie is) which was enough to kill me.

I hit a pole, was ejected from the car. I bounced off a building and hit the sidewalk and my car came to a rest on my head, killing me.

It's hard as hell to make a car explode, but I managed to do it with a Corvette (Coquette). I smashed it to hell to the point where the engine started licking flame. I stood back and a minute later fire started shooting out of the gas tank. It flamed for a little bit, then a deafening explosion blasted me backwards (I thought I was at a safe distance, but apparently not). The explosions look great, as does the fire.

Taking a helicopter to the vertical ceiling then bailing out looks unbelievably cool. Do it over water; you take no damage.

sounds like the first date, somehow my game ended early barely bowled 5 frames maybe she thought I was a cheap date and invite me up come the think of it I didn't even get a kiss on the cheek :frown:

I got a kiss on the cheek the first date. SEcond date i took her to the cabaret club and then we really got it on.

5 frames was the only option given to me. I tried walking her down to the beach. Did that for a while then I accidentally hopped a fence into the closed amusement park section. For some reason, she hopped over the fence too. But what was infuriating was that when I hopped back over the fence, she wouldn't! It took me a few minutes to figure out where the stairs were to get out of the closed amusement park section. At which point she was complaining, "Hurry up and get me back to my car!"

All I got after the end of the first date was a "I'd really like to see you again."
