Same here. I saw the ads while walking into the subway the other day, so I decided to jump the turnstyle, punch an old lady in the face, run from the security guards, then make a daring escape by jumping the tracks right infront of a moving subway train before darting into the sewers and escaping through an underground passage.






Only then did I realize they were on my tail, so I set a claymore to pick off any tag-alongs, climbed back up to the surface in an alleyway, where I found myself surrounded by a pack of wild dogs. Even I couldn't have fended them off, but I looked up to find a fire escape to climb, and saw yet ANOTHER GTA4 ad! This gave me the second wind I needed, and managed some amazing yet complex maneuvers while cracking the dogs skulls in mid-air against one another. Why the fuck are there wild dogs in a city alley, anyway?




Once I was done, I realized I still had somewhere to go. So as not to incriminate myself again, I decided to take a taxi this time. Thank god there were advertisements for the local crime-ridden, red-light district in the taxi, otherwise I probably would've went off again.

Well I broke down and pre-ordered it at Gamestop so I can have it on release day... I still have my pre-order from Lion Games, which I figure will arrive a week after the launch. I guess that'll go on eBay, unless someone here wants to buy it for $45 shipped.

I got Mass Effect from them and it was at my door the day of release (or that Wednesday, I forget exactly). He shipped it before it was released so it would get here the day of.

I can't believe this, but I don't have a preorder in, and I'm not sure if I'm going to. Ever since I worked at Gamestop last summer part-time, I swore I'd never preorder a game from them again for their practices regarding such, and I can't bring myself to do it. This most likely will mean that I won't get a copy on release day (it's going to be absolutely huge), but we'll see. I'm still considering taking the day off of work, something I've never done for a game before. But I've not had a day off since last July, and I'm jonesing for a day where everybody else is at work and I'm not .

yeah, if someone wants to set something up here for release day, i'm totally down. me and 2 of my buddies will be on all day prolly. took off work for this. this will rule!

oh, how i love GTA games. i remember walking into walmart the day GTA:SA was supposed to come out, only to find it not on the shelves, and those preorder cards still by the game case. i almost cried, but figured i may as well reserve it while i was there, so i grabbed a card. when i handed it to the guy behind the counter, he was turned to someone beside him and said "Didn't we get this in earlier?" and the guy said they did, but hadn't put it out yet. so he went back and got me a copy. of course they went through the whole M rating thing with my mom(i might have been 14 or 15 then), and she just kept mumbling that it was OK. then right after she paid for it, it was in my hands. skipped the next 2 days of school just to play.

GTA4 has already been leaked was hoping this wouldn't happen but I've just checked and it's deffinately out and available.

I'm going to have to stop going on the net now as the amount of leaked images and information will probably spoil it for me

I guess not. There's already loads of video's on youtube showing in game footage. Make's it harder to wait for Tuesday

Whenever I think of game releases (especially this big), I can go into Best Buy the day of the release (not midnight either)) and just buy a copy off of one of the displays that has about 500 copies on it.

Am I alone here? How many copies are being released in the US for release day? How many people are expected to pick it up (buy or grab their pre-order) on release day?

I will admit that I might buy it on Tuesday morning but if I have to wait a week or two to get it, I don't care.

That's it--I did it. I took a peek at one of the gameplay videos and now my anticipation meter is through the room. It's almost unbearable.

This video is spoiler free and of only gameplay. No story or plot stuff revealed.

Its great just to see Niko running, driving and car jacking.

Some notes from the video:

• 
  - The framerate is rock solid and after seeing this video my worries are basically gone.
  
  - There is some slight pop-in, but it's no different than previous GTAs and infact looks a bit better in this regard.
  
  - Love the way Niko moves around.
  
  - 00:20 seconds, love the car jack.
  
  - 01:15 The SUV flipping off the road looks goddamn cool.
  
  - 01:50, watch as the SUV that's being driven, loses control and slides across the medium slowly spinning and actually rips the grass from the dirt creating tire tracks. the tires independantly grinding and moving around. Euphoria looks fucking awesome.
  
  - 02:10 Niko gets off the freeway and finds himself in a bit of a traffic jam. Tries to dodge the stopped cars but ends up hitting the back of one. Niko is spit out of the car (i think through the front windows?) and falls to ground. Gets up and is immediately attacked by the driver of the car he hit. Punches tinsue and Niko takes the guy down to a bloody mess. The stumbles from both characters from the punches is amazing. Seriously. Little amazing touches everywhere.
  
  - 03:10 Carjacks a convertable by hoping in over the door and pushing the driver out.
  
  - The car physics are incredible looking.
