** Official Grand Theft Auto 4 (GTA4) ** Thread

Wow. I didnt' even start the first mission, and I already got my first dirty disc error. This is after renting Rainbow 6 2 and getting 4 DDE's and giving up.

I think I'm just going to go buy a PS3 out of frustration now. I can't take it anymore.

Words can't even describe the rage I am feeling right now.

It's not GTA4 that is killing the 360. It's th FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT 360 that is killing the 360.

I don't know what it is, but there are some games that are 'ok' with this system and some that are just trainwrecks. R6:V 1 & 2, and GOW were both constant DDE's. Bioshock was a DDE every 4th time I saved. College Hoops 2k7 is unplayable due to contant DDE's. I was worried all week about the same thing happening with GTA4, and now it's happened, and so I'm officially done with xbox.

Luckily COD4 has always worked by some miracle, even though the system eats the game up and i have to clean the disc every week just to make it work.

^been there, thats why i went for the ps3 version instead. i get worried every time i switch my xbox on.

as a side note, anyone know if there any cameos from big name actors? cos when i pulled some fella out of a car, i swear i heard samual l jackson's voice.

online like craigstlist. I picked one up from target over xmas to get the free blu ray discs with it. other than that, they're pretty scarce until the new mgs4 bundle comes out.

you loose 2 usb ports, the media card reader, 40 gigs, and ps2 bc with the 40 gig fyi.

ps1 titles should work on both since its all software emulation.

there's no dates in the game. Atleast I didn't notice anything. It just time a day so chances are there isn't going to be any snow.

The only possiblity of snow is that the rockstar secretly hide that feature and tied it to the system clock.

If it's the Xbox 360 hardware, why are you having to clean the media? How old is your 360?

I skimmed through the credits in the booklet and no names stood out.

EDIT: Although I don't remember seeing Katt Williams in the credits and he's on the television.

yeah ricky gervais is in it too somewhere, i wouldnt class him as A list though.

yea people seem to be complaining about the handling. i like it personally. its no forza2 but still pretty good. wonder if you can use a steering wheel with it??

Yeah, they get fairly pissed I love how aggro the other drivers are when you cut them up, shouting "FUCK SAKE!" and "WANKER!"

That's what I hate about it. You simply can't go full throttle in this game without disastorous results. Maybe the driving will be better for me once I learn the city, which will take a while. The handbrake is basically useless in this game, as far as I'm concerned.

I thought the handbrake was useless at first, but after driving around a bit I've adjusted a bit as to how it works.
I'm having a hard time flying the chopper with the machine guns and trying to actually shoot stuff at the same time. It is hard as hell to aim that thing, especially when you are trying to blow up someone driving in a car on the ground. Got into a air-to-air battle with a friend in another chopper yesterday and we just couldn't kill each other.. haha. We ended up just picking up a few people and practicing our skydiving with no parachutes..

Oh, and I LOVE how you can shoot the tail end of the helicopters off and they still fly, but are just out of control! It was funny as hell when I shot a buddy's tail off of his chopper and he kept flying wildly all over the place. I also blew his rotors off once and he just fell like a rock.
