Just saw the list of cars... it's quite a let down.
For a game that's been in development for so long, it feels lacking.

About 198 out of the 1,031 cars are "Premium" cars. Meaning they have in-cockpit views. Just about all of the rest are updated versions of cars from GT4.

Only a handful of tracks will have the time and/or weather effects turned on.

Indianvideogamer is a premier vg site like the IGNs and gamespots of the US. But I guess a "frog in the well" like you would not know that. You probably still think they ride elephants and water buffaloes to work too, right?

You can't trust those Injins. I've never heard of the site so that's why I didn't trust it. If I haven't heard of a site before I won't trust it. It's the same as if I were buying from them. I only trust things from reputable sites that I've heard from. Now they've earned my trust.

I'm off to pre-order GT5 right now and trade-in Prologue.

Well traded in Lego Star Wars and Prologue and reserved GT5 at Gamestop. Sucks they're not doing anything special for the game but that's to be expected as it's not as big of a release as something like Call of Duty or Halo.

Yup.. Kaz won't pay for any license.

For a moment I was considering picking up a PS3/Wheel/GT5. This is pretty much a dealbreaker for me, honestly. Seems like for every good thing GT5 has, they take 2 steps back.

I just canceled my pre-order thanks to the car listing. I know Polyphony is Japanese and they have access to virtually any Japanese car in existence but seriously, nearly 100 Mazdas and 40 Nissan Skylines? Never mind the fact this is basically GT4 HD since most of the cars came directly from that game. We'll see what DLC will bring but there's a lot of badassery missing for the game to be in development for so long.

Yes, I'm whining and yes I'll get over it. I'll probably still end up buying GT5.

There's nothing wrong with him thinking like that. If it's what he expected he'll save some money but if it turns out to be awesome he'll buy it. He'll just be able to read reviews and find out if it truly is any different or not.

I'm super excited for GT5. The only game on PS3/360 I've actually pre-ordered and been waiting anxiously for what seems like forever.

I was more or less referring to the car list rather than all the features. I'm going to see what the general consensus of the game is before I plunge in head first. I preordered so quick this time because I was shocked the release date was actually confirmed and I flipped out. ;)

Well don't listen to me then, because I'm likely to gush over the game and ignore its flaws. :)

Vehicle rolling and damage made it into the final game? Is this confirmed?

One of the biggest annoyances I had with Prologue was the lack there of. I know it's a superficial feature for the most part, but getting into an crash and bouncing around without a scratch just took the wind out of my sails.

Apparently this is a pic of a damaged standard car bumper.

Also so people on a few GT enthusiast forums are saying you can't change wheels on any of the standard vehicles. I haven't played GT since GT2 or GT3 so I don't remember if this has always been the case. I want to say "No".

Yes, but it depends on the car. Some manufacturers don't want detailed damage, some do. And some cars are upgraded versions of GT4 cars and didn't get full damage as Phobic noted above.
