if they make this into a great application probably the only thing they will have over yahoo could possibly be the overhead. Yahoo uses a ton of memory for what it is.

Anyone know where/how the convos are logged? I found some files in the application data dir, but nothing that was human readable...

I don't even have a mic with me. I'm on my lappie in a hotel room for the next week plus. Someone add me so I can test this out tonight please. 🙂

So you can't group contacts???

I'd like to separate people by forums and whether they're friends, family, pimps, etc.

I still want to know if this uses less resources than my Skype which I like a lot. Oh heck, drop your price to realistic Skype and let Google buy you already lol.

Gmail's voice comm is soo much different than any other service. It works. Zero config. I pushed "call." It found my sound card. Found my mic. Did all of the negotiation with the firewall and established the connection on both ends. It cancels out all feedback, eliminating the need for headphones.... simply amazing

I used aim for YEARS and never got voice to work ONCE. I got google's voice to work with one fvcking click. AMAZING.

google has taken over my desktop.

google desktop
google earth
gmail notifier

MSN Messenger's works pretty damn well itself. I would use Google but it has no video, correct? So, sticking with MSNM for now.

STFU Hyundai fanboi, I want an answer to my question 🙂

Voice is cool, but I don't have a mic. You really don't need headphones for it to work well?

I'm using talk.google.com over Trillian now anyway. I have friends on msn, yahoo, and aim, so Trillian is the best way to go for me.
