EDIT: 6/24/05 12:04AM Alright, a member of the boards has agreed to handle the collection of the money. I'll post more details when everything is "official."

Original Post Follows:
OK, as many of you know. The webhosting company, ripplehost.com, abandoned its customers. Now, people who purchased their hosting services from ripplehost cannot access their files, emails, databases, and etc.

After doing some searching, I found out who owns the servers that ripplehost uses. I contacted him, and he said that he will turn on their servers for one month if we pay him $238. So, I am asking for you to think about giving a few dollars, if you can spare it.

If you want to help, please PM me for information on how we are collecting funds.

Even if you don't want to help, please bump this thread.

I should have clarified. This money does not go the owner of ripplehost. It goes to the company that owns the servers where ripplehost was hosted.

Please see the first linked thread.

There is a good possibility this may happen as early as this weekend.

I cannot divulge any details right now but it's in the works.

If a number of AT'ers are involved in this, I'd be willing to toss in a few bucks to help out. I've been in that situation myself, never fun.

Yeah ripplehost freaking just stopped with no update or explanation. I had to jump ship and go to cernax for hosting. I didn't lose enough to matter, but it was only because I had just backed up my forum a couple of days before the big silence.

Nobody, he doesn't want the money, just wants to get the boxes up for 48 hours and get this over with.

Speaking with Jason tonight, no money has changed hands... as far as he would discuss anyway. HostPC has been offering to make this deal right for the customers that were affected, and several people here have banded together to collect donations, but in the end, I think they are just happy to be rid of the headaches.
