Sounds great. If only I could stop thinking about doughnuts. Thank goodness I'm "thin". :)

Haven't been since Tuesday but my tri's are still sore from the workout. I'll get back on Monday for a destructive chest workout. Need to get my straps again, been reduced to 95lb dumbells for my shrugs. Those 120s are really what I need. Too bad my grip isn't as strong as my traps. Guess I need to work on that.

Been working out 4-5 days a week for about 5 months straight now. Did a hardcore back/bicep workout yesterday, as well as some squats, deadlifts, and leg presses.

Where are you located? I think looking at all my fat co-workers is enough motivation for me to workout.

No doubt, you want to talk about grip hurting today! Deadlifted 350 X 2 sets yesterday, no straps.... Then proceeded to do lat pulldowns cable (V bar), bent over barbells rows, and bent over cable rows wiht straps. Then 2 sets of pullups to failure... Finally, finished it out with dumbbell shrugs, (130's). My grip is obliterated today!

Bump this thread for me on Monday. I'm going away for a few days, but I fully intend to start working out again when I get back.

I've been pretty good lately about my workouts at home. I'm not by any means ripped, but I'm as strong as I've ever been.

I've just been HORRIBLE for the last couple years about getting serious about cardio. I'll get serious about jogging every few months but usually drop off after a couple weeks. I bought myself a recumbent bike a little over a month ago and so far I've been loving this thing. It's not a total body cardio workout like an elliptical trainer, but I like the fact that I can kick back, turn on the tv and just GO. Since I can just get sucked into a movie or tv show I can forget how bored I'd otherwise be and get my heartrate up to a good level for a long period of time and burn a lot of calories. I've been averaging 45 minutes to an hour 4-5 days a week the last few weeks. I'm really liking this machine.

Man you're lucky! I wish I had a recumbent bike! What brand did you get and how much? They are the best cardio machine IMO b/c of almost 0 impact to joints and you can train at a higher level of intesity than an elliptical without fear of injury. :)

I got an entry level bike - the Discovery 6.0 recumbent made by Keys Fitness. It's pretty much the EXACT same bike as the CardioMax 560 recumbent that they list on their web site. I didn't want to spend a fortune, but I DID want magnetic resistance and most of those start in the $350+. I was about to get the CardioMax 560 at Play it Again Sports for $399 when I just happened to stop into Academy Sports and noticed that the Discovery 6.0 is an identical machine that I could get for only $270. No brainer there. :D Especially since Academy has a return policy almost as liberal as Walmart.

I would've loved to have gotten a Schwinn because those suckers are supposed to last forever. But for only $270 for a solidly built recumbent with magnetic resistance I can't really complain.

It's called overall strength. Just because you run 7 miles daily doesn't mean your legs are strong. You're much better off working out your entire body than just running. (Assuming you add in some form of cardiovascular activity) I'd rather not be able to run 7 miles a day but look and be strong than run 7 miles a day and look like a stick.

I never stopped using the gym.

Well, this week I have, but I'm moving, so I'm lifting enough that it doesn't matter.
