i feel like the game was for the most part well called.

and the team that played better, won.

i think Korean should keep their head up high for achieving the unexpected by coming to that level.
but it was pretty clear that germany players were in a different league all together.

i thought both keepers were phenominal.
they were excellent.
 
It nothing to do with conspiracies. It has everything to do with the stupidity of using world refs. Hell I bet MLS refs/linesmen are a HELL of alot better than those shitty ones FIFA was using, heck they should have just used various refs and linesmen from the various leagues in Europe. But no they thought they should use refs that really dont have the experiance to call these world class games.

The linesmen robbed both Italy and Spain. You say both had their chances to win. Know what, they shouldnt have had to HAVE those chances. Italy had 5 legit goals disallowed in the world cup 2 vs Croatia, 2 vs Korea, and 1 vs some other country that the name escapes me at the moment, they HAVE EVERY GOD DAMN RIGHT TO WHINE. They were out and out robbed by poor officating. With better officiating, Korea wouldnt have made it out of the round of 16. Anyone that says Korea deserved to be in the semi's is just sad.

I dont care if people say thats just how it is. It shouldnt be how it is, yes calls even themselves out in various games, but Italy was robbed through and through, as was Spain, they just happened to be playing the host country. Its a damn good thing Germany won, or it would have been a farce of a World Cup if Korea made it to the finals.

How many goals did Korea have called back that caused them to be knocked out? None. How many goals did they have called back period? Having legit goals disallowed is far worse than getting other bad calls. Korea had very few bad calls called against them.
 
Those articles are both crap. The first is inflammatory and filled with hyperbole and the second doesn't say anything meaningful at all.

Believe me, I am not arguing that Korea didn't get favorable calls, but there is no conspiracy. They beat Italy outright and got by Spain. Good for them, it'll be a long time until it happens again.
 
Korea DID not beat Italy, the refs beat Italy. No conspiracy just the worst officaiting in world cup history.
 
When the president of FIFA says a team was a team was a victim of bad officiating, theres no doubt about it. The FIFA President said Italy was the worst victim and it resulted in them getting knocked out. He also told Italy to suck it up. But frankly if I was Spain and Italy I wouldnt shut up, I would be bitching non stop, even if it wouldnt solve anything.
 
Has anyone here been Refing? Do you even have any idea how hard it is to call Offsides right?
I am not saying there where some bad calls. Boy where there! But having some expiriance and spending a lot of time on the pitch I can tell you it is probably the hardest call there is in Soccer. Problem is you don't have the slow motion and perfect angle as a linesman. Heck you try to make the call while sprinting down the line only looking at the last player not having the passing player anywhere in your sight. You need to listen to the ball being struck because if you wtahc the ball you don't see the last defender you need to watch. So cut them some slack.
In the end it has a tendency to equal out... that's why the ref's don't change sides, but the players are. I think just for the fighting spirit the Korean's deserved how far they have come.
Now... they are out after giving me the pleasure of some of the most fun games to watch. As a German... I am quite happy now... we will see if Turkey can pull the upset off. They got robed against Brazil in te first game... now they have a chance to make up for it. If I where Brazil I'd be quaking in my boots.
A final of Turkey vs. Germany would make Germany a Mad house. The biggest minority in Germany are Turks... you can't imagine what the streets will be like. I know the German police is already planning some crowd control! 🙂

I used to ref and it is tough..... and about the game, im glad germany won... and brazil will beat turkey, and go on to be germany in the finals... my prediction...
 
Obviously IT DID NOT equal out considering Italy and Spain were sent packing because of horrible calls. As the FIFA president said, Its better to allow an offside goal, than to disallow a legit goal.

What the real problem is some of the refs didnt have the experiance they should have to have to call a World Cup match.
 
It's a freakin' shame how a team can advance to the World Cup finals. Germany played:
Irland (average team)
Saudi Arabia (worst team ever to participate in a WC)
Cameroon (always good for a surprise but they sucked really hard this WC)
Paraguay (poor-average team)
USA (not known for their soccer skills)
South Korea (luckiest team ever)

They are always so lucky, it's not even funny anymore.
 
USA had bad luck also against Germany in the quarter. The linsemen made a huge mistake when US scored on a header (the goal got disqualifyed beacuse the linsemen thought the ball was over the line a moment earlier) + the handball on the goalline. These are 2 big mistakes in one game. But US Team has not whined about it at all.

I agree with LH they should have just used worldclass refs and linesmen from the various leagues in Europe. But they didn't.

There is always bad ref calls in world cup but i haven't seen so many bad calls as in this one.

Italy was sent packing because they were a bunch of dirty diving cheap pussies who played a poor strategy. You know why they wear tight shirts? So that they are the only ones grabbing jerseys. They deserve every bad call they got as make up for all the calls that were missed.

Spain is a different story, but it doesn't change the fact that there is no conspiracy.

I'm very proud of the way the Korean team played today, they lost but they played as if they belonged. they played a competitive match.

Italy is Italy, nothing needs to be said about them.

Spain had their chances and they lost. that's just the way it is.

there were some bad calls and good calls. but i do not agree that both Italy and Spain lost because scored then called back.
watch replays again for Italy and Spain. the whistles have been blown prior to the goals.
Spanish goal that the assistant referee called out of bounds was a bad call. although the assistant referee did call out of bounds before the goal was shot.
so you can say all you want that referees are bad. just don't fvcking tell me Italy and Spain had goals and called back.

oh btw, admit you guys just hate Korean team because they beat Italy, Portugal, Spain. you guys rant whether Korea team wins/loses.

and hey, anyone went to Koreatown last night, I went to the Equitrain Parking Lot and it was great! 2000 ppl there all cheering and stuff.... and somebody smashed a car window parking RIGHT NEXT TO MINE! phew.....
 
I don't think Korea has much of a chance but I'm still pulling for them. I mean, look at the matchup: small Asian men vs. huge Caucasians. You gotta root for the underdog. 😛
