letsee . . . . Thief - Deadly Shadows just edged out HL2 as GoTY for '04, IMO.

. . . Doom iii should TOP the list of the WORST games of the decade (century) :p

Man I like the thief genre, but I think the 3rd one was the worst of the three. I was playing it recently, then got sucked into Vampire: Bloodlines.

They should have kept thief:Deadly shadows in first person and Vampire: Bloodlines in third person, no switching from one to the other.

really?!? you like fighting the Zombies in the Original? :p

And Thief II was just too much running around (although i liked it) . . . .

i guess you never finished Deadly Shadows . . . . Shalebridge Cradle Level is a MASTERPIECE of the horror genre . . . .

you do NOT have to switch views in Thief . . . . it only "adds" in a few instances . . . . mostly i was in First-person. ;)

Well, i am CHANGING my vote . . . . (actually i didn't actually vote in the poll until just now) . . . . even though i haven't quite finished it .. . .

Game of the Year (and a "sleeper" at that . . . . no one saw it coming . . . . and most people still won't believe it) . . .

is:

The Chronicles of Riddick: Return to Butcher's Bay (Developer's Cut)

9/10 (my first "9" and highest rated game . . . yet)

especially for a MSRP of $29.95 :)

Ummmm yeah... I'm gonna have to go with World of Warcraft also... it's THE BEST. Blows every other game out of the water.

farcry all the way man, I liked SA but I would be much happier when it comes out for the PC because the graphics in a way got crappier. HL2's install was friggen annoying and sadly to say but thats what made me not put it on the #1 list. Doom III was more hype then anything else, so glad I didn't buy it, demo saved me $50.

Yes
My GotY ;)

i just finished it (late late) last night and am looking forward to REplaying it with the Developer's commentary - 'on'. (lots of neat eXtras - much like a DVD movie)

i like everything about the game . . . . they did not reinvent the FPS but do things differently enough to make it very interesting and entertaining. although i do not care for Vin Diesel or the Riddick series (Pitch Black was 'fair'), this game is BETTER (written/acted) than the movies. . . . . mini disappointment - it coulda/shoulda been LONGER. :)

And getting into a mech suit was a "blast" (was that a spoiler?) . . . . the cut scenes are great . . . funny and fun:
e.g.
*mini spoiler*
(after Riddick slaughters a couple of heavily armed guards in spectacular fashion, he turns to the Bad Guy and says, "See what you made me do?")

My vote goes to Rome:TW. Second is HL2.

I really didn't like Far Cry. The first half dozen times I restarted due to the computer kicking my ass, I was like "Whoa!". It was surprising to see such good AI. Then I uncovered all kinds of flaws in the AI and exploited them to pretty easily get through most scenarios. I could never "cheap" my way through HL2.

HL2 is definitely the best FPS I've ever played, but even the best FPS can't compare to an RTS like RTW. The incredible depth of the game makes it a rich gaming experience.

So, without spoiling it (if thats possible), what makes it so great though. Please be as detailed as possible.

If only Halo2 was here for PCs then HL2 would have an opponent IMO.
What about PES4? Doesn't anyone play soccer in here? :Q
