**Official G70 Discussion thread**

With the G70 looming on the horizon i thought it would be a good idea to have a central thread to report all the results and what not in.

As people get results post them here or PM me and i will add them to this post.

Additionally any discussion or speculation can take place right here.

Also ill be counting down here. Right now:

5 Hours left EST

Hopefully (though unlikely) this will cut down on the number of reposts and other G70 threads.

Reviews:
Review from Chinese Website

Review from Xtreme Systems

That fits so perfectly with tonight, I work from 6-10:30 (CST), grab something to eat and sit at anandtech hitting refresh every 5 seconds. Anandtech has even been made temporary homepage! Oh man....

What's the official launch time?

9 pm pacific time

Bah, I've been browsing hardware sites all day looking for the launch details and never found the time. I wouldn't have guessed midnight EST, sigh.

It's kind of interesting to note that these will be available before Crossfire. I'm leaning towards getting a GTX to pair with my 4400+ and then ignore everything for a while. Mature, updated drivers with dual core support and further SLI enhancements should at the very least keep the 7800s competitive, which will be just fine for me.

What really confuses me about this Nvidia generation is it seems every vendor is implementing a different clock speed - and so one would presume some 7800's to have better performance than others. I remember seeing a site that had a breakdown of what some vendors (Asus, BFG, etc.) clocked at, but I can't find it again for the life of me. Can someone link it up? Thanks

1:00AM EST.... anyone have anything. It seems the NDA keeps changing the dates. First the 21st, then the 22 at 1:00 and now at 6:00

Why so excited? All gonna get one when they come out? Sure it's big news but I doubt any one of you will be planning to get one anytime soon, (600 bucks a crack? I'd think twice) might as well read about it this weekend.

Its just something neat to do.

Guy: "Hey, did you hear the new graphics card was released?"

Guy2: "HECK YEAH... I was up and read the review the second it came out!"

Obviously not many people would be asking that question (at least my friends could care less) but its still pretty neat thing to look back on.

Here

Toms hardware has a slight preview of the card.
I guess Nvidia was working toward other parts of the card instead just pure performance.

Such as fixing and improved pure video, better AA etc, HDR and S.M 3.0 as an example.

Wait for the Anandtech review, before judging this card. Hope their not foolish and use like A64 4000 with such a card.

Anand has an FX-57 and X2 4800+ to test his 7800GTXs with.

Wow! This is so unlike a graphics vendor these days. The card is available at the annoucement.

(sound of golf clap)

😀
